Barnes isn’t fast.

His strength is recognizing where to go quickly so that he gets a half step head start.

He’s a big liability when isolated on a good WR.

He's a safety. If we are expecting him to cover their best WR that's on the coaches.

CB had underneath zone, Barnes was high zone. Any Safety should be able to cover in that situation. It’s not like he was in man coverage off the LOS.

so he would up covering no one. Barnes had inside deep but then was tasked with covering goal post to sideline. Even Dabo said he was supposed to have help

missed tackles, facemask, poor coverage. after closer look, barnes never touched his facemask

I was hoping he would add weight and move into a hybrid role LB/Edge Rusher. He doesn't have the speed to play centerfield. He's really good in run support. Maybe he'll beef up and move to the front seven out of the back end. He's a really smart and instinctive player, though.

That’s my thought as well. He is struggling moving from limited snaps at nickel to safety. We’ve seen this a good bit actually. Guys do well early in the nickel and get moved inside or up, and then they struggle. I’m hopeful he will get his legs under him. He has great instincts.
