South Carolina quarterback Jake Bentley told the media Wednesday that his Gamecock football team is using last November’s beatdown at the hands of Clemson as extra motivation heading into the season. Which is perfectly fine. He said it makes them want to work harder. Which is fine.

You're behind the curb - USC is NOWHERE near the level of Clemson. I know its hard for USC fans to grasp that during their tumultuous downfall, Clemson had their biggest uprising, but come back to reality....we send kids to the NFL - you send yours to JUCO.

Wow.
Not sure where to start.
Obviously, Jake's comments are absurd. They got pounded in every aspect of that game. If our starters stayed in it would have certainly been 63 or 70 to nothing....
But forget Jake's comments, and listen to Daddy Bentley. He refers to "getting more players like that (like Jake)" and they will close the gap...
Jake looked like a middle schooler out there that night. He did not belong on the same field as the likes of Christian Wilkins, Dexter, Tankersley, etc....But yet Daddy Bentley is convinced "players like that (Jake)" will close the gap...
As much as I roll my eyes at this, I like it. And the reason I like it is that it shows just how delusional they really are. They just don't have a freaking clue. All talk. No Substance...

The little boy is most definitely still suffering from a concussion he got in that game. For the safety of that boy, he surely should be held out of summer work outs, and most likely fall practice also. Continuing to add damage to that monster concussion that caused him to leave the game, could cause him to suffer full dementia before he is 21 years old, and in a grave before he turns 23. When someone talk through their A$S the way he did in the interview, shows that his brain is partially detached from the brain stem. If his daddy loves his son any at all, the boy should be taken from any kind of a contact sport bc his brain is already turning to mush!!!

According to them, Jake is the type of elite level player that will help close the gap with Clemson this season, and will soon have them rolling of consecutive victories against us.
I have no idea where they get this idea. Bentley looks pedestrian at best - even against mediocre SEC-East defenses.

what percentage, would you say, of players are choosing South Carolina over Alabama, Georgia, LSU...or, anywhere? I just have a hard time understanding why people choose to attend SC when there are so many better options - especially in-state!
I don't see the "gap" narrowing any time soon. I wouldn't know what it's like setting goals and never reaching them. Then again, I don't set goals hoping it'll happen immediately.

Short memories Tiger fan. It was 6 years ago when we began our push to national prominence. Don't think they will because Muschamp is not Swinney and never will be. Also, we are on a ride that will overwhelm recruiting in the tri-states for several years or more. Not bragging for our Tigers, just it's true.

you pretty much called your son a liar. You said there is a big gap and he says coots are just as good as Clemson, but had a bad week. (I am still trying to figure out if they also had bad weeks against Ms State, Kentucky, TX a&m, Ga, Fla and goodness forbid..USF). Just a little FYI....one of the biggest gaps was at QB and it won't get much better. And the reason he chose the chickens over the other teams is because YOU were given a job there in order to get him.
And if you think people believe he had all those offers, you really have eaten the chicken feed.

that would befall Little Lord Bentleroy in Columbia this year, I seriously doubt he lasts that deep into the season. Certainly not wishing that upon the young man, especially with the thought of what's coming his way should he play, but their line just isn't robust enough to keep him from getting slobberknockered as their season unfolds.
