Yep, I’m an ACC homer but FSU ran into some very bad luck imo. To say they were one of the 4 best teams would have been the real travesty.

Unless you can see into the future, you don't know that. There is NO POSSIBLE WAY you can know for sure that FSU would lose in the playoff. You can use your imagination and speculate but that is as far as your point can extend

Would you put any money on FSU beating any of those teams? If you would I will send you my Venmo account information because I would love to do some wagering.
I’m not 100 percent sure but I would say 99.9% would be fairly accurate and it’s not really that difficult of a decision.
Fla St were in games with BC and Clemson. Neither stellar. I was on the fence about them with their first string QB. Clemson beats the #### out of them with their current roster.

I would have bet 1000$ last night that the chiefs would have beaten the Packers. They were 80% favorites to win the game but guess what? The game was played on the field and the Packers won.....people just don't seem to understand that when a power 5 conference champ has met all the criteria and done everything it is supposed to do AND STILL doesn't get a shot like every other team has before it, the implications stretch far and wide.
Am I betting it all that FSU would win? Nope.... Do I think the odds would be stacked against them in the playoff? Yep....but do I think they still deserve a shot to play for it? Yep
Bama had the chance to beat Texas. They lost....Bama had the chance to blow out multiple subpar teams this season and they did not. They needed a freaking miracle to beat Auburn . They do not deserve the spot

Well Bama beat the number 1 team and their loss was to another playoff team.
It would be nice to get some good playoff games. FSU vs anyone in the top 4 would be a snoozer. They showed me on the field what they had Sat. night.

If your stance is advocating for what games you think will be entertaining, your argument definitely holds some water. Not denying that
My argument is when you subtract all the glitz and glamour, take away the money implications and look at it objectively on what FSU has accomplished on the field (not what they will accomplish in the future) , they should have a chance

Like I said if FSU was the same team they were a month ago I would be pissed but the reality is they are not. That game Sat was brutal to say the least. Hate it went down like that especially for those FSU kids but one thing I have learned is life is not always fair. Just bad luck. I don’t believe folks don’t realize they would be there if there offense had a pulse.

.....and being in a basketball conference doesn't help them, either. Really, in most years, they win one conference game (Clemson) and the rest are so weak they are the conference champs. It means nothing to be a conference champion if that conference is so weak. Georgia or Bama, either one, would beat FSU three or four touchdowns - Texas as well. Michigan, I guess if you cheat it doesn't matter with the NCAA.

Well the ACC did have a winning record against the SEC. Georgia and Alabama run that conference and Clemson and Fl St run the ACC so let’s not pretend the ACC can’t compete. It’s just a false narrative. FSU not making it had little to do with conference strength imo but more to do with how bad they looked on Sat.

I remember a while back Dabo listed the goals for Clemson every season, the ones that are posted in the locker room.
1. Win the opener. 2. Win the division. 3. Win the state. 4. Win the Conference. 5. Win the closer.
I may have left one off, or those are out of order, but I specifically remember him saying winning the national championship is never on their list of goals for the season. This season is a perfect example of why - you have no control over making the playoffs, it's out of your control regardless of your record.

Truth
If I honestly felt FSU was a top 4 team I would be pissed but I can’t see them competing top 10 at this point. The game Sat night was just ugly and did no one in the ACC a favor. Y’all act like Fla St beat a good Louisville team. They just lost to Kentucky who just got beat by SC. Travesty was having Louisville in the championship game.

So dramatic.

Corrigan said it with great clarity: FSU is not the same team without their QB1, and the committee's job is to evaluate playoff-eligible teams on the basis of where they are *now.*
Yes, you have to win basically every game. Yes, you likely have to win your conference. And yes, it's possible to check both of those boxes (and thus become playoff-eligible) and yet miss the cut because of losses to key players.
Because who wants to watch FSU get their butts handed to them by a team that's running full-strength? Nobody. That's who.
But they'll get a chance to show the world how wrong and unjust the CFP process is here in a few weeks v. UGA, a team that has as much or more of a beef about the way things are than even FSU. FSU will get trounced, but, it'll make for a good story.
BTW, College football's been about "eye candy and big money" since Fordham played Waynesburg on TV in '39. None of this is new.

55th. Clemson not being as good hurt. Miami was inconsistent and NC and Louisville were over rated.
