Has to be some back story here...

Program was doing fairly well for two years in. Has had some outstanding individuals especially on floor. There almost has to be something related to feedback from the athletes and/or interactions with other people within the Athletic Department that led to this.

Well, obviously Neff and his team investigated the initial allegations and felt they weren't valid enough to warrant Not hiring her.

Imo, I always questioned the said allegations because afterall, 6 girls on the Utah St team followed her. I certainly don't advocate dangerous physical or mental health practices... but sometimes that's a fine line.

Evidently we gave Amy a chance and took the approach we would determine for ourselves. I would suspect we found out that the original allegations proved to be justified, and the administration received similar feedback from the athletes and parents.

Oh well, maybe we can hire the Oregon St coach.

Gymnastics was a sellout at home meets. The tickets weren't cheap.

Actually the tickets were cheap, at least from the athletic dept the first year ($5 general admission and $10 reserved seats). They got pretty pricey on the secondary market this year though.

Who was unhappy? 300 lb pearl clutchers upset the outfits were too skimpy?

I thought she was doing a great job with a brand new program. This should set the program back. They better make a big name hire.

What!!!!!!!!! Amy is leaving???? No longer going to be leading our balance beam beauties? Or overseeing the uneven bars events?? Our floor and vault exercises will never be the same. No, no. Tell me this is not so!!! I'll never pay attention to another women's gymnastic event again!!! Neff should reconsider.

But, we will have to muddle our way through life. BTW, who is pitching for the Tigers today?

There must be issues that are unclear. I have been amazed at how quickly Clemson has become competitive in gymnastics and the team appears to be getting stronger rapidly. I hope we find another coach who is as effective.

I was unaware of her coaching background.  Went to several gymnastic matches, enjoyed the atmosphere and competition.  Always seemed like a good vibe with the team.  Look forward to a new hire and continuing the positive momentum that the program has going.

Evidently, the rumors about her were true and she brought that baggage here. An abrupt firing with cause. She likely will sue, and the University will counter sue. I bet there's a video or three that gets released.

There’s been no follow up from Clemson about whether the firing was with or without cause (per the article in The State). The timing would seem to coincide with Neff doing an end of season meeting with the head coach. Perhaps there were things he put down as conditions for her when she was hired that weren’t getting done? Certainly the cloud of past accusations had have been discussed.
