Know that the little brown furry rascal used by a Yankee town for decades to make money for its tourism industry (hotels/restaurants/gas stations where 55,000 visitors attended today) and to get world notoriety for its town..
Is wrong about 65% of the time which is great news for warm weather peoples and golfing/boating enthusiasts.

You don’t approve of a town making money off of a long standing annual custom that doesn’t hurt anyone? Or is it because it’s a Northern town?
FYI Pennsylvania is like a Southern state, besides the cities, if you know it. And, well, Gettysburg. People have more in comment everywhere than politicians want you to believe.

Yeah, I’ve been in PA for about 25 years total now… more red (dual meaning) than GA where I grew up.
And btw, early February, about 7 weeks away from Spring, in Pennsylvania? Yeah, the rat’s a scam. It’s always 6 more weeks of Winter.

atop Sheriff Roscoe, one of several massive pine trees in our yard in the SC Midlands. They started about six weeks ago and got pretty far, then kind of disappeared save the occasional fly by. Two winter storms and many deep freezes later, they're now back to work.
No offense to the PA groundhog, but I'm going to trust these local Hawks' outlook on the weather ahead for the next six weeks and accept that winter, for the most part, is largely over here.
