needs to let the outfielder make a play IN THE OUTFIELD!!!! my goodness he thinks he needs to play outfield and second at the same time!

It’s the infielders ball until the outfielder calls him off. Mathus should have taken charge and called him off. It didn’t appear that he said anything. If he did then, yes, that’s on Purify.
As an infielder you are coached at every level to go get every fly ball you can get to, until the OF calls you off. There are few exceptions that depend on defensive alignments with runners on certain bases. That was not one of those situations.

I see he gets singled out alot during the games on here. Might as well praise him. Kid had 2 of the 4 RBI’s we had last night. He helped us win the game.
