getting his state of SC retirement to a certain point?? He was a very good DB coach at USC. I think Ellis Johnson made a point to have him go with him to meet Clowney when he first came on board. Great HS recruiter. Was promoted to DC when Johnson took a HC job. Spurrier obviously thought a good bit of him to do that. Lasted through the Spurrier regime but took some hits from the fans for the some bad run d performances. Has done a really good job as DC for UTC. Louisville choosing him as interim also shows what they thought of him from a leadership standpoint. Wash the coot off of him and let's go!!
Oh and he worked the Coots over headed out the door which is why they really don't like him. Took a low paying D job at Fresno State because contract terms with USC said they had to make up the difference in salary. LOL

Played a few rounds of golf with him. Great guy! He was with UT Chattanooga at the time and said he was tired of the rat race with the big schools and was enjoying his time just coaching football again without all the distractions. Asked him would he ever think about coming to Clemson since he played with Dabo at Alabama and he said if the timing was right he might consider it. Looks like the timing is right.
