Something's wrong.

Yesterday proved that these things did not help one bit:
A full year and a full off-season for coaches and players to get comfortable with the new OC and his offense.
A full year and a full off-season for our heralded QB to gain experience and learn the offense.
A totally healthy WR and TE crew, deep with experience and maturity.
The addition of a couple of stud, highly hyped freshman WRs and TE.
The hiring of a highly regarded OL coach, plus more depth, experience, and talent at OL than we've had in a long time.
Paying our coaches VERY well.
The result of all of that is a miserable failure. I know it's UGA, probably the deepest and most talented team in the country, but we would have struggled, and possibly lost to APP ST yesterday (that game is a legitimate concern next week). We have one of the worst offenses I have ever seen; and I lived through Hootie Ingram and Tommy West. I honestly thought our O-Line played very well, and showed the kind of improvement we needed; however, it wasn't nearly enough. Now, our team is going to have a real psychological problem, as they have got to be, understandably, questioning everything they have bought into. That may be the biggest concern going forward.
So, what is THE single biggest problem (see poll)?
What is our team's SINGLE, BIGGEST problem? [Results]

Dabo's reluctance to change and use the portal and NIL. We have inferior talent. |
 |
Dabo meddling and not giving Riley free reign with the offense. |
 |
Riley - he's a bust. |
 |
Cade - he's a bust. |
 |
Player development. |

Other - please explain. |

But sticking his head in the sand is no longer an option for our program. Dabo needs to embrace change or retire and make way for some new thinking. Remember that age old definition of insanity?

I actually thing that the offensive philosophy and play calling (which is led/formed by Dabo) is the bigger of the problems versus Portal. I think portal is a big problem too but I think we still have the talent on roster to be WAY better than we are on offense.

Agree, I don’t think this has anything to do with the portal.

Agree, something is wrong on the offensive side of the program. The concerning thing is Dabo cannot see that it is him. I hope Matt Luke, Riley or someone who is not a yes man can wake him up. I want him around for years to come but not like this. It’s sad.

Definitely something wrong on offense but our philosophy on roster management will always be a major concern if nothing changes.

Is a disaster. We needlessly tie one hand behind her backs, penalize ourselves for no reason.
Too much talking has made transition much more more difficult than it needed to be.

A through E. I wish it was just one major problem…. Or you could just say Dabo is the single, biggest problem. This entire #### show is on him.

Because I'm not looking for General beotching "It's all bad - we suck, Dabo sucks, Riley sucks, Cade sucks, our secondary sucks, Munson sucks, my mother-in-law sucks, my boss sucks, my back hurts, I have hemmerhoids, blah blah blah blah !@#$%^&*^#@!^^&%$#&!@^%$# ............
All of that may be true, and you have the option to respond as you did and elaborate. Just trying to get an idea for what most people see as the main thing.

Not true. I am curious as to what people see as THE BIGGEST problem. Nothing wrong with that, and I couldn't have possibly been more clear about it. It's your right not to like it though.

It's player development and that starts with Dabo hiring too many green coaches that were former players at one time.

The offense is the same as it's been for 10 years. The start of the offense began with Chad. Then it slowly got tweaked and became this slovenly thing (Clemson offense to use Dabo's words) under Elliot and then Streeter. Fast forward to now.... got this brand new shiny OC that is running the Clemson offense instead of turning him loose. Seems to me we really don't need an OC anymore and could save those dollars for something else.
But, Dabo keeps dissing on the defense again.

I didn’t see an option for all of the above. If it were just one thing, it would be relatively easy to fix. It’s a mess

Dabo is unwilling to change. I mean, last year he fired a former Clemson QB and hired a new OC; went out and got the most highly regarded guy in the country. He fired another former player who was OL coach and made another big hire there.
Are the problems with the offense because Dabo is meddling? Or because Riley sucks? Or because our players suck that bad? I don't buy that the issue is that UGA is just that good. We saw this all of last year. I'm not sending cards to the funeral home, just citing the obvious need for significant change. Hope we can change enough in the right places to get it fixed.

I chose player development as the primary issue.
It just seems to be the through line, we've changed coaches and players enough that something should have worked by now if it was anything else.
But, for whatever reason, our players don't seem to be living up to their recruiting hype and that's coaches not properly developing them.

They aren't that hyped. The main reason out recruiting rankings are where they are is mostly because of defensive players.

I was really hoping that the offense would scrap the old playbook and come up with a new one. The old one certainly isn't working. Either the plays are bad, the execution is bad or the other team knows what is coming.

Having to pick only one, it's player development. That way I cover QB and wide receiver issues...and their coaching by default.

It’s a coaching problem. We’ve now seen the same problems over two different quarterbacks, three different coordinators, and nothing‘s getting any better. Either Dabo is handcuffing his coaches, or he’s just hiring the wrong guys. Dabo’s ego is preventing him from doing self evaluation
