Just heard on Fox Bus. News that Snap chat is offering new software eng. grads
500k to start. WOW !!!
How does our program compare to Stanford's ?

They aren't offering 500k. Their starting salary is most likely around $100-$120k which in california money is probably equivalent to $60-$80k in the south. Still good money, though. That article you were talking about is estimating the value of the stock options, which are currently worthless as snapchat has not been acquired or had an IPO.

And while I'm a proud graduate of our CS program (BS and MS), the prestige of our program doesn't even hold a candle to that of GA Tech, much less Stanford.

CS here as well. I like my time at Clemson and have a good respect for the program, but it is well behind GT and way behind the Stanford and MITs of the world
