EVERY ISSUE and EVERYONE who didn’t pull their weight fell on ME! I was responsible for everyone’s performance from me, down to the front desk receptionist. If we didn’t hit our KPIs, it was my fault. If one employee failed to hit their personal goals, it was my fault. I made the big money, so I assumed responsibility for everyone’s performance, decision, and every win and every failure.

Now one could argue the top executive is Neff, but we all know decisions about this team are Dabo’s to make. Blame Allen if you want. It’s Dabo’s fault. Blame Garret, but it’s Dabo's fault. Blame the players. It’s still all on Dabo.

Anyone who doesn’t lay the blame of our current situation in Dabo's lap, either refuses to see and admit it, or knows nothing about leadership. And you have a right to your opinion. But you don’t have a right to alter the facts to fit your narrative. Dabo made this mess, and I expect him to fix it relatively quickly (1-2 seasons) or he needs to leave. My opinion. But with the $$ I give to this school, I’m entitled to that.

In Dabo’s defense, he acknowledges that it’s on him.

The problem is that he keeps saying that he will fix it and promises more championships in our future, but there is zero evidence that we are trending that way. Dabo has done nothing in this current era of college football to suggest that he is capable of turning things around.

I object your Honor. Last year we won the ACC, made the Playoffs and nothing was broken. This year we have not performed to the level anyone wanted but teams lose. Today, 4 undefeated teams lost and the Top 25 going into today has 11 teams that were not in the pre season poll and unbelievably, Vandy, UVA and South Florida are ranked. Just because those 11 schools are no longer ranked does not mean their program is broken anymore than ours is.

Give Dabo the time to prove himself again. Fan support is important to Dabo, his coaches and players. Fan support can impact recruiting and fishing in the TP. When fans bolt from the stadium it always reminds me of what gamecock fan do almost every game. Do we want be emulate coot fans ???

Mr. Executive I read and appreciate you post but was you job scrutinized in the media and by fans and former coaches on TV. Dabo is scrutinized before, during and after each game everyday, after every game did you have to explain loses every week. Dabo, his staff and players are judged after every season, during the season, during the game, after the game, have yo step before the news media to explain their decisions and failures. They have to deal with all types of fans, and Dabo has to manage coaches, players and more. He has to evaluate teams. watch film and more.

I am sure you were a very capable and a really good executive. Some of your job responsibilities may have been similar to Dabo’s but his job is unique.

You were managing mature adult people without fans inside your building yelling Fire Mr. Executive. Unlike Dabo and Company, You were not trying to build kids into successful mature adults. And I am sure you made some bad hires to. And you had to fire people. That’s got to be difficult.

Being the Head Coach of a college or professional football team is totally different than an executive in the private sector. There are outside forces out of Dabo’s control that affect his team. I am sure you had some of those outside forces too. But how often were you personally the topic of a 2 hour radio or fan call in show.

In fact it’s, IMO being a college HC in the new environment of pay for play college athletics may be more difficult than coaching in pro sports or like most executive positions.

My post was not intended to be little anyone or their careers. It been over 17 years since Dabo did provide Clemson with a quality team who won 10 or more games all but 1 year when Dabo’s team won 9 games.

If you want Dabo to fix the problems, try being more encouraging and less negative for the success of the program. This may be a factor that brings a kid to Clemson. We must give Clemson’s most successful Head Coach time to reboot his Tigers into a CFP program again. But it will require some patience on the part of fans.

Who in 2013 or 2015 that Clemson would play for 4 consecutive National Championship Games winning 2 of them ???

Who would have thought in 2008 Interim Head Coach Dabo Swinney would become the winningest HC in Clemson history ???

I think Dabo has earned more respect and time to reboot the team !!! 🐅🐅🐅 When Danny Ford had a few 7,8 or 9 win seasons did he receive this kind of treatment.

Like you Judge I have supported Brad Brownell during some difficult time's. It now seems to be paying off. Don’t be a hypocrite and throw Dabo under the bus give him time to solve many problems created by NIL, Revenue Sharing and the TP. Now include a lot more dirty recruiting with loads of $$$$$$$ to show these kids.

THIS IS NOT COLLEGE FOOTBALL ANYMORE. Good lord it is insane to me that there are still fans like you who don’t understand that. Dabo cares more about stories and morals than winning games and everyone in that program knows it. He is not a head coach built for this modern era. What he did in 2016 has absolutely nothing to do with right now. It’s an entirely different sport

I agree with your assessment, but I also know from my own management experience that changing the "boss" will only work if the "in the trenches" workers get motivated or receive the fear of God to make them change. Dabo needs to bring some #### fire and brimstone to the staff and especially the players -- get your act together or there's the door.

… I’ve worked in mostly top 100 corporations over the same timespan and no doubt we’ve seen a lot of the same issues … everything from wearing suits in the workplace and dot matrix printers to the era of business casual, the internet, remote workforces, and AI.

And while I’m sure you did a great job adapting and managing the changes, each one had its own specific set of characteristics that had to be managed not only by the employees, but by the organization as well.

And I’m sure, like me, you didn’t have all the answers and made mistakes… that’s life … and in the Clemson “football world” terms, that’s football!

Yes, the buck stops with Dabo, but in this new world of football with NIL and managing kids that join the team as teenagers, sometimes there are growing pains.

Sometimes you promote employees and they thrive, sometimes employees have reached their “Peter Principle” moment. Some take longer to develop. Sometimes they stick around, and sometimes they don’t … just like players and coaches.

But somehow you keep trying to challenge everyone while at the same time giving them room to grow, and also operate the organization successfully.

Dabo indeed is the CEO of Clemson Football and in my opinion, he’s managed and exceeded expectations over his tenure at Clemson. He may not have all the answers, but I believe he will find the right solution to the challenges and Clemson football will be all the better for it.

Dabo’s teams have played in 4 national title games and won two. No other football (not futbol) coach at Clemson has achieved that. He’s won 10 championships during his time at Clemson and is the winningest coach in ACC history.

I love winning the championships, but as a former Clemson athlete, what I appreciate just as much is the winning culture for the players in their development in the classroom and in life, which matches the Clemson Community so well.

I believe Dabo will get Clemson back to the top of the mountain again and bring home another Natty or two, but even if not, I, for one, support Dabo 100% and I’ll keep him as long as he wants to coach at Clemson.

I run a 2500 person company, had a bad year during COVID, got put on probation, had to make a bunch of changes to adopt…. Things are going well again now…. But the board holds me accountable……. I get a little grace but if im not adopting and fixing it, well I’m out…

Dabo has to get things back on track next year IMO……

If you're going to criticize another man's life work because he is throwing deserved shade on your beloved leader on a public sportsboard, at least have the balls to tell us what you do.

First of all, thank you for spending all your time today on researching the company I worked with for 22 years. None of it applies to me, since I was in the Development and Programming C-Suite. The losses are from under performing subsidiaries. My division grew at an average rate of 5% per year for 15 years in a row, and was the top performing division in the company. But please, send me more articles you think I don't already know about. Waste all the time you'd like. I enjoy it.

The more important question I have is, what made you believe that someone who doesn’t know you would care about your opinions of them and their 47 year career? At 63, I’ve learned that people who’ve built something real in life don’t waste time tearing others down—especially from behind a screen name. I have nothing to hide. My info is readily available (link below.)

Your words don’t shape who others are or how they think or live, but they do reveal something about you. You might find that showing a little kindness or empathy will do far more for your own peace of mind than throwing insults. In the end, words that build up reflect strength; the ones meant to wound only echo emptiness. I'll pray for you. Respond how you will... I'm moving on from this thread.

Blessings, whoever you are.

This is me. Nothing you write can change the facts: https://www.linkedin.com/in/jimmysmithvistage/

1) You posted your resume as credentials. A quick 2 minute google search shows that your credentials as an executive position are at a company that declared bankruptcy in 2018, and has gone on to lose massive market cap since. This was your choice to post, no one else’s.

2) When the success of the company you were an executive at comes under question, you start pointing out the positives. Something you are critical of Dabo for doing during his press conferences?

3) I choose not to discuss my successes/failures on a sports message board. Choose to view absence of evidence as evidence of absence if you’d like.

4) Regarding kindness and empathy, the entire thread, which you started, is about how accomplished you are and how you’ve had it with someone who is just trying to do their job under difficult circumstances. Considering you have also been an executive at a company that has gone through years of difficult times, I’d think you’d have more empathy.

Let this be a lesson in humility, we are never too old to learn.
