They lost 20 last year and had a bunch of pro. Or try. They got better. It pains me to admit that. Losing players doesn’t hurt them because they routinely recruit VERY well out of the portal.

I'm not sure how many of that 36 may have a year of eligibility remaining. I seem to recall reading that it was 5 or 6.

The guys who have transferred out are guys that wouldn’t have played much or at all.
Seems like they’re keeping who they need to and letting some guys go so they can use the portal to bring in some more.
Last two years they’ve had excellent portal classes. Will that continue this year? Time will tell.
They also have a very solid team so I doubt they’ll take as many portal guys this year. Beamer has a good situation now. He’s done a very good job.
Pains me to say all that. Go Tigers!

Can he keep doing a good job, or was last year an anomaly? Florida State showed how the portal can be a good thing or a bad thing. It's kind of a crap shoot, really. Do you best and cross your fingers. One thing for sure - the money is a sunk cost either way. Dabo just might have the right idea. We will see over the next few years.

I have no knowledge of what they are doing, but didn't they have some superstar receiver a year or two ago what refused to play against us...claimed injured most of the year and once he was medically cleared to return, refused...then transferred out at the end of the year.
I wonder if they learned their lesson and set the NIL deals up to include the bowl games...

Last night I heard Kornblutt going down a long list of portal guys usc is after and some are very good including Concepcion from NC State. We know how good he can be. Anyway they are very active in getting players on campus. It has worked very well for them the last 3 years. I personally don't want to go the route of so many one year rentals, but do see the need for 2-3 guys at positions of need as long as Dabo can keep the culture of the program he has built.

Nothing to do with getting them on that trashy campus. It's all about the deposits made to their bank accounts. No recruit in their right mind is going there for the coaches or the school.

Hate to admit but Beamer is doing a great job at filling their gaps they have w legit portal players. 3 years ago when they beat us at home Rattler and Juice Wells(both transfers) played a large part in the win. This year their defense was full portal players and they held us to 14pts which won the game for them. When is dinosaur dabo ever going to WAKE UP🤷♂️

Most SEC teams have that many guys or more in the portal right now. Oklahoma has 20. We usually lose about a dozen players to the portal each year.
