so the 12 team scenario this year would have been

Dec 14, 2022, 2:14 PM

1. UGA - Bye
2. Mich - Bye
3. TCU - Bye
4. Clemson - Bye

5. Ohio State hosts 12. Tulane
6. Alabama hosts 11. Penn State
7. Tennessee hosts 10. USC
8. Utah hosts 9. Kansas State

SEC would have gotten lucky ... no road games ... they struggle on the road.

You know ESPN would have flipped their collective lids with Clemson getting a bye ... lol.

I look for our Tigers to get a bye as soon as the expansion starts.

So, why would TCU be #3? They didn't win their conference. By this theory Clemson would still be #7 not #4.

Per ESPN, the top four seeds would have been 1) UGA 2) Michigan 3) Clemson 4) Utah. In the first round, it would have been

- Tennessee vs K State, with the winner getting UGA
- Alabama vs USC, with the winner getting Michigan
- Ohio State vs Penn State, with the winner getting Clemson
- TCU vs Tulane, with the winner getting Utah

Per their page, "A 12-team field would consist of the six highest rated conference champions and the six highest-rated at-large teams. The format would feature a first-round bye for the top four seeds and the first-round games to be held on campus. The top four seeds would be the four highest rated conference champions."
