Sounds like a shot at his position coach to me. Not trying to take away from the huge basketball win tonight, but was so tuned into the game tonight, that this caught me off guard.

Pretty good possession receiver whenever he was healthy. I had no idea he'd been demoted.

Grisham recruited Wesco and TJ Moore

TJ Moore made the key block that sprung CK2 for his game winning TD run against Pitt.
Ironically enough, Stellato was a good blocker.
Therefore, you are clueless.

he really should have just said thanks for the time, im transferring, he missed so many games, i could take his criticism more seriously if he were a big time baller.....but do you think he's going to the NFL no matter where he ends up?

Okay, should we focus on the fact that Beaux Collins said something similar, and is now the top receiver at a legitimate championship contender? Or the fact that we've had a dozen receivers since Grisham took over who failed to develop? Since he became WR coach, our passing offense has been ranked: #103, #76, #71, and #17, despite having an incredible cast of blue-chip players and playing some of the worst defense in the country. We've been top 10 in drops every year. We haven't had a 1,000 yard receiver since he took over, but had 9 in the previous 10 seasons (and had another 6 with more than 850 yards). We haven't had a single receiver taken in the draft the previous 3 seasons (and had 11 taken from 2015-2020).
Look, I think Stellato had a lot of issues holding him back. Dude was tough as nails, but got hurt constantly, which hurts your ability to grow as a receiver. But acting like we can't cast any blame on Grisham is just stupid.

I was curious so I looked up the numbers on Collins. He has more catches, yards and tds and a higher yards per catch his last year at Clemson than he did this year.

Pretty much every college transfer leaves because they are disgruntled in some way. If they are pressed to make a statement, it is going to be something along these lines unless there is something more specific to say such as I didn't get the NIL money promised me. Even regular students that transfer often say something similar about the courses they were taking. I don't see this as overly alarming at all.

Now most of transfers go to get more playing time, better coaching, higher NIL, or a combination of those.
Or, like D. Kendrick, they have legal or discipline issues, got somewhere else, and either reinvent themselves like Kendrick or don't, like others.

That's a shot at his position coach. TIFWIW. Considering how Clemson honored its commitment to him, he could have kept it classy and just moved on without the parting shot. So, good riddance IMO.

I dont know about the "good riddance" part LOL but otherwise totally agree.
TS was given so many opportunities during his time here to bounce back that he probably wouldn't have received anywhere else.

above Williams, Wesco and Moore?
I like Stellato, he's a gritty player. But he was never going to start here again barring an injury, and now with Brown back, even without being injured, his snaps in the slot would have been basically non-existent.

Where did Troy say this? All I see is, 'I express my deepest gratitude..."

Dec.4 2024 Dear Clemson Family, First and foremost, I want to express my deepest gratitude to Clemson University, the coaching staff, my teammates, and the entire Clemson community for their unwavering support during my time here. Being a part of this program has been an incredible honor, and I will forever cherish the memories, lessons, and relationships I've built here.
After much thought, prayer, and discussions with my family, I have decided to enter my name into the Transfer Portal. This decision was not made lightly, but it's what's best for my future and it's time to take the next step in my journey
I am excited about what lies ahead and will forever hold Clemson close to my heart. Thank you for everything. I will be entering the portal with 2 years of eligibility remaining Sincerely, Troy Stellato #10 https://x.com/troystellato

Stellato has not found his new school yet - has he?
Dec 4, 2024, 6:27 PM
|
|
Stellato is probably using the ‘not developing at Clemson’ statement as an attempt at a subtle message to say ‘as 2024 proved, I’m already pretty good. With your (fill in the blank college name) superior coaching, I’ll be the star WR that you need.’
I hope his snarky comment doesn’t turn off too many programs that might have otherwise have given a chance.

The best ability is availability.
I actually take his announcement as a positive sign. I’m thinking it means that the good young receivers that have beaten him out for playing time may be sending signals that they are staying. Williams, Brown, Moore and Wesco would be playing ahead of him as long as they are here.

Unfortunately it seems Troy opted to do exactly that.
I don’t get when players make these types of comments. Even if true, it doesn’t benefit you in any way to say it. Just make your decision and leave with class and dignity.
