On a scale of 1-10

How tight will the Georgia kickers sphincter be if his first kick in a college game is the opening kick off against Clemson, in front of 85+ screaming fans, on national television, with Sammy Watkins standing in the endzone. I'm thinking there is a good chance he hits a snap hook into the sideline stands.

UNC and Peppers kicked our ####!
But they kicked to us after the half...and the guy completely missed the football and fell down.
I've never heard that many people laughing at the same time.....it was awesome!

Personally I woualdn't suspend him. It's not like he was bombing down the street at 80 mph with an open bottle of jim beam and a bag weed. The kid was doing what alot of people do during the fourth of July holiday.

Also, BUI on 4th of July is stupid and dangerous. I personally know 2 people involved in BUI injuries and fatalities.

Beat me to it. Boats are inherently dangerous.
Aug 13, 2013, 4:23 PM

I'd venture to say that, at least, 75 to 80% of all boaters are unaware that there are "rules", regarding proper boating.
Getting drunk and operating a boat is just as dumb as operating any other vehicle.

He was chaged with boating under the influence which is just as serious as driving under the inluence and he reused to submit to a blood acohol test.

If you know you're guilty why give them the ammunition. Let them get a warrant for a blood draw, by the time they get it, and get you to the hospital, you might be under the limit.

Granted, he does seem to be a magnet for kids with character or integrity issues but once he get's them on campus, if they screw-up or do something illegal, unlike some other coaches in the $EC, Richt generally suspends them for it.

How tight is your kickers sphincter going on game day? Must be a little nervous about not having a kicker in a big game. Also, does your team plan on handing us the game like you did last year against USCe or are we going to have to earn it?

Also, I'm curious about your faith in your untested freshmen kicker facing a big time, hostile environment for his first game. I know my dig piddles on the rug when he gets nervous, I'm expecting the same from your guy. Like I said, snap hook into the sideline stands, which is probably better than not getting it to the endzone and giving Sammy a chance with it in his hands.

Well considering that Marshall Morgan missed quite a few fgs last year I'm not convinced that he would be an asset. If it does come down to a fg though I suppose I'll just have to hold my breath. Our kickers haven't faired that well the last couple of seasons.

Cool. Well all the kicker has to do is kick it. It's up to the coverage team to tackle him. But I guess if I were a walk on freshman kicker for an opposing team underneath the lights of death valley then my hole would be about the size of a decimal point.

admired beamer for the letting the home invader kicker back on VT's team. NOT!!! and since then they have steadily gone down hill. YOu have to have discipline and accountability. as Beamer and Booby Bowden got older they got more lax. It did not help either program. Of course VT has that qb which is enough to sink about anyone

that you guys recruit. I'm not saying our players are saints, but if one of your best player had the same issue that got a couple of our players suspended last year for four games, I wouldn't stand in judgment. I would never question Watkins' character for getting into trouble a ton of college students get in trouble for. I was an RA at UGA in the 80s, and kids got in trouble for weed back then too.

For sexual assault (or whatever Mettenderper ended up pleading down to) or driving around with guns with filed off serial numbers (Crowell). Clemson has it's share of problems, but not problems like that.

I guess he didn't learn from the other players misfortune. How many times does something have to happen before you see a pattern?

Just a response to the SEC 'jab.' I think Richt is one of the coaches most folks don't criticize when it comes to discipline as we tend to dismiss our fair share...

The punter and place kicker for UGa is mediocre at best. Perhaps they have improved a lot in the off season but we have them by the $%#s in the kicking game. Hope our return and coverage improves a lot.

I remember when this game was decided by kickers.....

A era of great defense and conservative offenses made the kickers be the difference in winning or losing.
O how times have changed.
Of course kickoffs have changed also. Nearly every kicker can easily kick it through the endzone.
