But in this case it's because they think tearing down a coach with two National Titles (both against arguably the greatest coach in college history), and numerous conference titles, somehow will make their admittedly upper-mediocre tier coach look better.
They are stupid. And not Clemson fans.

environment where Clemson fans feel a need to pull for one Clemson program over the other. With his incessant finger-in-the-eye nonsense every time the football team or Dabo does something that can be interpreted as a failure or mistake, coupled with a pathological level of support of Coach BB, he's created a situation where some of the fans here will laud a CBB stumble over him out of spite. I'm sure I've done it...or at least thought it. It's stupid.

Maybe I'm misremembering but I don't recall that being an issue back in the day. But correct me if I'm wrong. Certainly a lot of people were predominantly football fans. Some people were predominantly basketball fans. A few focused on baseball. T_I_P would keep us updated on tennis.  But football fans didn't resent the basketball team just because we were in a "basketball dominated" conference and basketball fans didn't complain that more people liked football.

The basketball team never gets anything. They wear jerseys that are 12 yrs old and have to play games on a court that Sidney Deane and Billy Hoyle would laugh at.
Rocky's GYM in Rocky4 would be an upgrade to the crap hole gym the basketball players have to use. A trucker's lodge in south Chicago has better facilities than Clemson basketball.

Football and basketball are very different sports. I'm proud of our basketball team make no mistake about that. Going 14-1 in football would be about the same as losing maybe 3 games in basketball all season. We have lost multiple games to teams we are better than in basketball this year. It happens tho but we can't really compare the programs or sports.

Because we have the 3rd highest paid football coach so our record has to be in the top 3 as well. If I’ve learned anything reading TNet it’s that a team’s expectations for success correlates directly to their coach’s salary.
