That the issue with our offense was at least 70% on the WRs, right?
When Cade has had a vertical threat, he has looked great. The offense has been unstoppable. This goes back to the ACCCG against UNC two years ago.
He just didn’t have that last year. He didn’t have that against Georgia

So confusing to say the least!

Last week not a pass in the middle of field and a chart showed that 75% of the field during UGa game was not thrown into..
And week later throws all over the field!
WTH is that about other than better WR play, from better players and a much weaker opponent.

I’d say it was about a poor game plan by the coaches & failure to adapt.

Defenses have been forcing us to win outside the hashes. We just haven’t had the WRs (Randall) that could do it consistently.

I’m not going to #####, but no the best wideouts were not on the field last week. Speed last night was on another level.

Scary thing is Dabo said in his post-game that the freshman WRs showing out (over the veterans coached up by Grisham) shows what a good coach "Grish" is since he recruited them.

Sounds like he's been reading TNet and that comment is for people who want Grisham to be fired.

I disagree. I think there as a method to their madness. If you accept the assumption that 2021 Georgia mentally broke DJ, then you don’t want to throw your noobs to the wolves off the bat. That sows doubt. About their talent. About their choice. About their coach. Having belief is huge. Last night helped the psyche of a lot of guys. They can look past UGA and know better what they can do.

The difference is CK2 spoke to the team after the game(reports)
Not known if DJU5 had that same energy after getting pulverized by UGA...

Find receivers and connect. You are partly right but I think time in the pocket is also big.

OL has definitely looked better under Luke. I expected them to be better, but they are ahead of where I thought they would be. Bodes well for that group moving forward.

From our fanbase.
Amongst many other things TALENT has been lacking from the offensive skill. Hopefully last night was the start with Wesco/moore.

Nothing is safe around here. Are you trying to differentiate yesterdays success vs the UGA game or last season as the answers are different

Aaron Murray, former GA QB, said he watched the film from last week multiple times. Said Cade really didn't play that poorly. He put more blame on the WRs not gaining separation. And he's correct. If u look at A. Williams receptions (for ex) there was usually a GA defender draped all over him!

The OP thesis has merit. NC State looks like they have a decent secondary. If we can do to them some reasonable fraction of what we did against App State there will be a lot more certainty behind it.

The receivers helped but the main reason for the offensive improvement was Appalachian State's inability to get a pass rush. When Cade has time he is a good passer. If you put pressure on him he is a different quarterback. I expect to see many blitzes from our opponents in the upcoming games.
