Why does it even matter? They will re rank everything before the beginning of next year. We don’t deserve a top 10 finish when we lost in our last game. We were 16th right? How we jump 6 spots lol. When we lost.

Whoever wins the natty will be #1 followed by 9 SEC teams in no particular order and then all the other teams. I thought we had already been over this in past years.

The #1-National Champ, #2-runner up, 3-4 semi-final (bye) losers, 5-8 quarter final losers. 9-12 is a toss up.
You would think 9-12 would be the first round (visitors) losers, but the SEC love will win out.

The bowl committee does not re-rank after the playoffs. They had us ranked 16. However, the AP and the Coaches both had us ranked 13. I would think that with us having just beaten SMU (12th in both polls) and them loosing badly we move ahead of them. Despite being "Alabama", who was 11 in both polls, who lost badly to an unranked team we move above them. We are now at 11. However, I do believe depite beating the 7th best team in the ACC that #15/16 ranked Ole Miss will jump to number 11 or higher. Thus we move back down to #12. Despite being annihilated by OSU a 3 loss Tenn is not dropping out of the top 10. We are still at #12. Likewise, Boise State stays in the top 10 with only 2 loses(both of which were to a final 4 and final 8 team). We are still at #12. Indiana was ranked #9. They beat absolutely nobody that was ranked and lost to the two teams who were. Maybe they fall to #12 and we move to #11. But since they lost by only 10 points to ND I doubt it. Especially if ND wins again. If Texas goes on to be the NC then maybe we are #11. The only other team with any influence is Arizona St. Since they played Texas closer than we did they will stay above us. So at best we are #10 if Ole Miss does not jump us and Indiana falls to 11, we are #11 if Ole Miss does jump us and Indian falls to 12, and we are #12 if Ole Miss jumps us and Indian does not fall below 11.
There is no one else close below us with a meaningful "loss" or a win besides BYU and Iowa St. But I don't think they will jump that far. Everyone else in "striking distance" also lost.
So I think we will be #11 at best but probably #12.

We jump SMU. Stay behind Alabama. Get passed by Ole Miss.
Teams like BYU or Iowa State could jump us too, but I think they slot right behind us.
