Sick to my stomach…lost my class ring yesterday

Aug 7, 2022, 1:16 PM

This was my second one. There won’t be a third. Hopefully someone finds it and does the right thing.

I lost mine twice. And it came back…..

Aug 7, 2022, 1:37 PM

both times.

First time was in parking lot of Capt ####’s marina at Murrells Inlet in late 80’s. About a year later a very kind gentleman from Liberty SC called my mom to tell her he found it. Tracked me down from name and home town engraved inside.

Pretty dad gum amazing.

2nd time it was gone about 6 months and I gave up on it. Ordered a new one. Month or so later it turned up. 30 minutes later UPS rolled up in the drive to deliver the new one I ordered.

Again, amazing.

It might help to mention where you think you might have lost it.

My puppies and I were attacked by a loose dog, and in the confusion, it apparently slipped off my finger. I didn’t realize it until several hours later. Called the park and went back and looked, and had no luck.

Know anybody with a Metal detector?

Might be worth going back again with one.

If it’s any consolation I did the same thing circa 2002 in a dove field in SE Georgia on a cold Dec morning. The ring was constricting my blood flow so I put it into one of many pockets of the multiple layers that I had on or so I thought. The good news is that we limited out but the bad news is that I had to order a new one and the price has steadily increased. Good luck finding it!

I've been without mine as well. It's time to replace. What company should I contact?

Try the Clemson University bookstore. I contacted them and helped order one for a friend of mine.

Good luck!

tummy ache huh?

Aug 7, 2022, 2:37 PM

sounds like you may have swallowed it, this will work itself out in about 24-48 hours.

badge-donor-10yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I thought if you swallow a class ring

Aug 7, 2022, 9:17 PM

it stays in there for 16 years.

Sucks to lose it, and sucks that whomever found it didn’t turn it in. But I will hold out hope that they will have a change of heart (or are just slow to report)

That sucks! I know the feeling. Like the Clemson ring, The Citadel ring is a big deal and several years ago my uncle, a Clemson grad with not the best eyes, was visiting for a Clemson fball game weekend and on Sunday, he accidentally put my Citadel ring (thinking it was his Clemson ring) in his toiletry bag, went back home to NC, I could not find it and asked him to check his bags, he said he didn't have it (but really didn't look). About four-five months pass and he calls me at work that he found it in his toiletry bag....very relieved but really should not have gone that long, had he looked. He is forgiven. If you wear it all the time except for sleeping or doing yard work type stuff, you really feel naked without it.
I hope whoever finds yours, turns it in to CU.
