The only bright spot of the game. They played a heckuva game after being told they would get blown up. Only gave up one sack on what should have been an offsides call. Held their own and gave Cade time to stay in the pocket. Also made decent running lanes at points.
Matt Luke has been a game changer. Really hoping a couple more hires like that can be made this off season.

Good pass pro. Run blocking sucks. Can’t get 2 yards can’t get 1 yard. Can’t run the football and can’t win games that matter because of it.

Not sure how much of that is OL & how much of that is Mafah. Would have really liked to see Haynes get more touches

Yeppers, a good power back helps out a bunch; ours wants to be a scat back. 🤷

Playing not to lose - RB personnel decision is a glaring example

Mafah isn’t healthy.
Haynes got benched after his motion (or was it alignment) penalty and, if I remember correctly, didn’t see the field again except on the KOR team.
I think that was a coaching overreaction. A hurt Mafah isn’t delivering blows to the defense; his game has never been quick cuts in the hole or making a man miss in the open field.
Mafah isn’t a threat as a check down receiver, either. When we spread him out wide, he represents next to nothing as a threat.
His best attributes as of his current injured condition are pass blocking and knowing the plays / not creating penalties.
Except for when he’s in a pass protect role, his presence on the field represents a ‘playing not to lose’ mentality from our coaches.

Dylan Stewart - 1 tackle , 0 sacks
Kyle Kennard- 0 tackles, 0 sacks
Pretty good protection for a beat up OL.
Coach Luke seems to have made the OL better this year.

I thought our OL played a good game. Our starting lineup makes a difference. They afforded Cade the time he needed in the pocket. I just wish we had thrown the ball more in the 2nd half. It would have been nice to send someone on a go route a time or two.
I said prior to the season that Matt Luke would make a difference. I hope some of these recruits wake up and see what a great coach he is.

They know he’s a good coach, but they go where they get the most $$$. Idiotic game these days.
