He is the leader of the offense in my opinion. DJ sure isn't. It's a shame that a true freshman is our leader. Even Ross isn't. Let's ride Will Shipley the rest of the year with Mafah getting carries as well.

I had heard all the hype preseason and he sure as heII has exceeded my expectations. Really fun to watch a guy full of heart and determination to win.

I wouldn’t be disappointed if we went primarily wishbone for the remainder of the season. Shipley, Pace, Mafah, and Phommachanh

If we go to the wish bone then recruiting will fall off the table. Clemson would be a back-row football program in 3 years if the coaches took your advice.

But perhaps you can convince the S.Caroline gamecocks take up your advice ... that would be a service to Vanderbilt (which may be the last team from a Power 5 Conference that hasn't solved the 'S.Caroine' puzzle).

Ross and DJ probably feel they have their positions locked, no matter what. Shipley and Mafah are trying to prove themselves. If this continues, the first two might have to prove something and the freshmen will be the leaders. I will cut Ross some slack, as he is coming back from a terrible injury. DJ????? Tired of commenting about him.

DDClemson, glad that you recognized J.Ross and Shipley, along with Mafah, for having good games.

DJ ... he sure isn't Heisman material, but if you've been paying attention he's gotten better (overall) each game. The occasional bad plays (INT in the first half ... when he forgot to NOT stare down the receiver) are still troublesome. But the strip sack TD was NOT his fault. Our RT (good player) got beat by a top 10 NFL draft pick (i.e., FSU's superstar) and made a great play. DJ had moved up into the pocket (as a good QB does when he has reason to trust his protection) and was looking downfield for receiver options. This play (if you think about it) reflects DJ's continuing maturation as a QB.
