SEC Bias

Nov 3, 2014, 10:01 AM

One of the biggest SEC biased statements I heard over the weekend: “If Mississippi State can beat Arkansas, and Ole Miss win their game, I see State and Ole Miss ranked number one and two, especially since FSU had to come from behind to win their game Thursday. Not even sure FSU should be in the top 4.”

REALLY??? Mississippi State, the #1 team in the country, playing one of the cellar teams of the SEC, had to come from behind several times to win the game in the final quarter, and probably should have lost.

Well, Auburn took care of Mama Nkemdiche’s boys, so they are out of the picture for the rest of the season. Mississippi State will lose at least one game before the year is out as I don’t think they have what it takes to go the distance. FSU should be the only undefeated team at the end of the year.

Also, I don’t think the committee will have more than a single “one loss” team from any one conference in the Final Four.Although Clemson won’t be in the Final Four (this year), I hope the other Big 5 "non-SEC" conferences that are in the National Championship picture keep on winning out. How GREAT it would be to have a “Non-SEC” National Championship game.

I dont particularly like the bias either and clearly it is money driven through ESPN. However, i wish ACC had more football driven programs within the conference. I think the ACC is weaker as compared to the other power five (except for Big10). Has anybody noticed the crowds at some of these venues around the league?!?! As much as it pains me, ACC needs Miami, NC State, Vtech, and Gtech to step it up. Great basketball conference, not so much in football...

I couldnt beleive that Ole Miss was still ranked in top 5 after their loss to LSU. Curious to see if they drop out of top ten now? Surely they will because they loss more than the game Saturday night. Great game though.

Go Tigers
