Scouting Louisville *UPDATED*
Sep 24, 2016, 11:49 PM
|
|
See my original breakdown here http://www.tigernet.com/forums/message.jspa?messageID=20078725 but with only a little bit of time left in this game with Marshall, a couple things to add and highlight.
1) Jackson once again barely over 50% completions. Big plays are what they rely on a lot. Make them go the length of the field and keep him in the pocket.
2) Turnovers - Louisville has turned it over 3 times tonight. That makes 10 turnovers in 4 games, with 3 of those games with 3 turnovers a piece. Our linebackers and Secondary are going to pick him off 3 times next weekend. Again, 20/39 on their only road game of the year @ Syracuse, and 24/44 tonight.
Additional HOW TO BEAT THEM
1) Pressure - I'm sorry Ms. Jackson (WHOOOO), Mr. Wilkins, Mr. Pagano, Mr. Watkins, Mr. Lawrence, and Mr Ferrell (they are for reallllllll). Louisville will not have the time they need to make the plays they need to next week.
GO TIGERS!

Cardfan123 you think tonight was bad wait til next week. I was impressed with what they did to the criminal's last week until I saw what USF did today. FSU defense is bad. GT game the other night made me feel pretty good about our D. They may be young but they can flat out play especially in the backfield. Jackson is not going to have time to think next week. DW4 and Company will get it done in the Valley. Go Tiger's!

Thanks so much for the time you have put in to this analysis (yes I read your prior post). I have a ton of respect for Lamar Jackson. I remember watching Mike Vick against FSU years ago as well as sitting in the nose bleeds with some of my boys when he beat our behinds in the Gator bowl and LJ is the closest thing I've seen to him in college football.
Louisville is going to be an interesting game, but I think you are spot on with your observations and I know BV will have us on point. I am a bit concerned with the inexperience of our db's. I know LJ will put up some numbers, but nothing like what he has done in other games this year imho. I think he's under 200 passing and just above 100 rushing. He's too good an athlete not to break a couple. He will not see another defense like us this year. It's all about how our O performs. I love that Ray Ray has been exploding into the scene. I think we will have a balance with MW, AS, JL, and RRM. We do need to establish the run, not just at RB, but with Deshaun as well.
We definitely have a chance to put it on them.
Thanks again!

I would imagine O'Daniel will be used as a spy for Jackson most of the game. BV will have a solid game plan in place, we just have to execute and score points.

Good call, but as good as DO has played in spots for us, maybe Korrin Wiggins or a db is a better choice for a spy. I know BV will have a solid plan.

been open by 10-15 yds?
Seems like if our DBs can at least stay close those passes will be a lot harder for Mrs Jackson?

I watched the FSU and Louisville game. I agree with everything you said. Jackson can only make a good pass when the recivers are wide open.
