SCAR

I see a highly rated prospect from D.C. just committed to the lamecocks. I can only ponder: Why would any real quality out of state athlete who had not grown up pulling for them as a child do such a thing? SCAR will likely go 6-6 this year and get the daylights beaten out of them by several teams.--hopefully, we will be in that group! Next year, their NIL QB will be gone and 6-6 may look like a dream to their faithful. I realize for these athletes, the word "committed" has little meaning and that they can easily portal out when times are bad, but, why go to that dump?

life is too short to ride bench
and most NFL talent is day 1 starter worthy
and a true generational talent will elevate everyone around them
we can't knock this guy for picking the best opportunity for himself

It's the worlds greatest question. I am always confused why a football player with any talent would pick a school that is known for doing nothing with talent, plus its a terrible place to attend.
They have to know nothing about the school's history when they go and fall for whatever cheap gimmick the current coach is selling. Beamer must have a lot of gimmicks.

A quick google search shows 29 USC players in the NFL currently, with 37 NFL players from Clemson. Throw in some of that ESPN money ($49.9MM per school) toward the NIL, and hey, I'd send my kid there to follow his dreams. The academics and school experience are pretty much moot at this point for 5-star recruits, anyway. They can transfer around from school to school if the first situation doesn't play out. Why would a player leaves the Braves to join the Twins?

Maybe his only opportunity to play year 1, or just a low IQ guy that has no idea on SC’s historical football record.

Considering their suckage, USC does have a decent number of known players in the NFL.
SC also gives players a chance to play against top competition without having to worry about whether they will be fighting for a starting spot.

We signed 4 5* players and had the #8 recruiting class in the nation after going 6-7.
