Most of the people in SC live in generational poverty...is this actually surprising to anyone?

So what's the excuse of the states who have the most people living on the street in a tent? California, New York, Washington, Massachusetts, Oregon etc etc....is that generational poverty as well or just the result of incompetent state governments that encourage being a degenerate?

etc, the ones with the highest populations, by far.
On the politics comment, not sure what you are saying. Are you saying S Carolina politics hasn't been aimed at or good at bringing up those in generational poverty with the rest of the rich? I'd say yes, almost by design. Are you also saying that some states like Washington and Massachusetts maybe have too liberal a bent that builds a nest to help support the homeless that doesn't necessarily bring those up from that lot in life? Yes probably. But overall, those states have less poverty per perentage of its population than many, including S Carolina.

By design? Which policies would that be? You do realize that when you break it down by demographics the difference between states is almost nil. Black people are 3 times more likely to live in poverty regardless of which political party is in charge. Most southern states have 3-5 times the black population of other states.

I got an idea, instead of listing states where the most people are living in trailers, let's list the top states where the people live, defecate and shoot up on the sidewalk!

Bible Belt states also have the largest concentration of the black population. Which directly correlates to more poverty.

There are some nice ones. It might be a good idea if someone wanted to buy some land and throw one of those on there for awhile until they could possibly build down the road. Those things can be nice though even if that's all they ever have.

I live in Mercer county near Princeton, nj. We have trailer park near here in east Windsor and robbinsville hardly low income areas. NJ is also very liberal. They force all towns to build affordable housing. These units are cheap rentals and purchases well below market, so people move from low income and high crime areas to the richer suburbs. The cost is borne by existing taxpayers, taxes are $11,000 per year for a 1200sf townhome in my town. I have no basement, garage or significant yard. The problems just get exported. A lot of guns come from other states here. Gangs are a big issue here too.

I always called them modular or double or single wide modular homes. Nothing wrong with those homes...folks have to live somewhere. They just want to cut folks down by saying trailers.

My wife and I lived in a mobile home park, for the first year of our marriage. Our daughter was born while we lived there. Some of the nicest, most helpful, and most decent people I've ever met. I had no problem calling them friends and neighbors.

Actually it’s Mississippi followed by Alabama. SC is tied for 3rd with New Mexico. Yay!

Whether you live in a House, Apartment, Condo, Trailer, Manufactured home, Camper as long as you keep it clean and neat inside and out then it's home.
