SC commit did not even know Muschump was HC at Florida

Aug 8, 2018, 9:03 AM

And the kid lives in the state of Florida. Unreal.

SOUTH CAROLINA
The question: After not finding much success at Florida, why do you think Will Muschamp has been more successful at South Carolina?

The answer: I feel like it’s a different set of players. I feel like it’s about the players’ attitudes and mindsets. At Florida, he didn’t have the kind of players he has now, from a mindset standpoint.” – Four-star South Carolina offensive line commit Mark Fox

The answer: “I didn’t even know he was the coach at Florida, to tell you the truth. I think he’s doing a good job at South Carolina, though. The way they are coaching and recruiting and everything about them has the players wanting to be great and work hard.” – 2020 four-star South Carolina commit Issiah Walker

Apparently Ray Tanner didn’t either.

*Didn't have the kind of players?

Aug 8, 2018, 9:20 AM

No, he had much better players! He followed Urban Meyer and the shelves were stocked with 4 and 5 star players.

A roster so talented Urban faked a heart problem to escape it.

That’s actually not why Urb faked health concerns at Florida. The talent was most definitely stockpiled at UF when Muschamp was there, but you can go ahead & deny that. You coots never seem to let the facts cloud your judgement, so whatever makes you feel better.

So number 5 overall in 08, 7 in 09, and 1 in 10 is not talented?? Lmao.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Are you denying the talent on that roster?***

Muschamp is so good at recruiting that with the "best QB in the SEC" apparently USC sure struggles to make it past the top 100 in offense AGAIN, even Vandy matches your offensive production under that Muschamp lady.... Which is strikingly similar to his horrendous offenses he created at UF. NEVER AGAIN THOUGH.

It seems real to me.

Muschamp left / booted four years ago. That is ancient history to a HS recruit.

In the kid's defense, if he is 15-16 years old now, he was only 8 or 9 when WM was hired and 11-12 when he was fired. Still pretty funny. As for having players, you are correct. He probably had BETTER players while at Florida. There he was doing less with more... Now he's doing less with less....

It is hard for those of us Sixty-five or older to recognize that an eighteen year old has not lived a single day in the 20th century!! Think about that when you post about young people today. They are focused upon the immediate and their futures and unfortunately not the past. As a college history professor I have to remind myself that 1980 is not recent in their minds.

It is critically important for the elder posters to "educate" the younger Tiger fans about the past so they will not take the present good fortunes for granted. Those of us who understand the Coach Ford success have to explain why Dabo recognized that Clemson had greatness awaiting with the right attitude and culture along with critical program support. We are living in a wonderful time to be a Clemson follower and we best enjoy these days because all we have to do is look south to Usuck to see how a "second chance" coach is attempting to follow a legend in the OBC and is struggling to compete. Muscrap might last another three seasons, but when UGa., UF, UT, TAMU and even Arkansas return to better times it will be nearly impossible for the USCe program to stay relevant.

Go Tigers!

It’s amazing how quickly media forgets Muschamp’s Florida days

Aug 8, 2018, 10:36 AM

He’s not having more success at South Carolina. He’s doing the exact same thing. He’s playing safe, boring football. He’s putting up atrocious offensive numbers and opportunistic defensive numbers. And he got lucky a lot in his second season. It’s almost a carbon copy of what he did at Florida. He went 11-2 in his second season with Florida by winning lots of close games that he shouldn’t have won. Sounds a lot like his second season at South Carolina except with a worse record against a weaker SEC east.

Well, to give him some slack, half the state of Florida has

Aug 8, 2018, 11:48 AM

been trying to forget about it too.

I remember Missouri going into the Swamp and beating them 42 to 13 and what few Florida fans that were left in attendance were chanting "fire Muschamp "

Someone should show that OL Mark Fox recruit the TWO separate films of UF lineman blocking their teammates in a live game , against another team . Twice . One of them was in the Swamp where they lost to Georgia....Southern ... GSU ..
yeah, that #Boom sure can coach em up.

How's he having more success? He was 28-21 at Florida(57% winning percentage) and 17-15 in the SEC. So far, he's 15-11 at South Carolina(58% winning percentage) and 8-8 in the SEC. He's gone 6-7, and 9-4 in his two seasons there, and his best win has been against who? NC State? Or the Michigan that went 8-5?

I agree that you can't exactly say he's done poorly at South Carolina, but I don't get all the people(mostly South Carolina fans) who make it out as if he's doing some sort of miracle job there.
