Brothers and sisters, sunshine pumpers and Judge Kellers, woo hooers and regular fans, today we we must put our petty differences aside and unite behind a single banner against a common enemy! Of course I speak of this abysmal change to one of our most beloved traditions of running down The Hill.
This new format has got to go, and I know TNet has more than enough firepower to make that happen. I’ve seen enough heated arguments on the portal, coaches, punters, seatbacks, and even concessions to know that this group has what it takes if we put our mind to it.
There’s been a few different threads on this but I wanted to create a specific topic based on the one started by Caddie with the information provided by Scott_Rhymer to make action for each and every one of you as easy as possible.
I made a generic template email below to cut and paste to send it to
fanfeedback@clemson.edu

To Whom it May Conern,
As a proud [insert your affiliation to the university here, fan/alum/etc] I would like to voice my extreme displeasure with our new stadium entrance on gamedays. The Most Exciting 25 Seconds in College Football is not something that required a face lift. The tradition of Orange Bowl March followed by Tiger Rag with the cannon firing and the team running down The Hill has been inexplicably ruined by inserting a totally unnecessary hype video and piped in music in the middle of the sequence of events. This new version is clunky, unnecessary, and is quite frankly ruining a tradition that this university and its fans should be proud of. Please restore our tradition back to its original format, or at the very least move the hype video ahead of the Tiger Band’s performance. This new format is an unwelcome, unnecessary, and plainly terrible change.

Agreed and while they're at it please reduce the in between every pitch format that you blast music at the Doug. Notice I said reduce. Not saying to eliminate it. But a baseball game is supposed to be a somewhat chill event where you can chat with your friends. More organ interludes and way less Crazy Frog.

I agree SMED....I like to hear the "baseball stuff" between innings and no longer can you hear any of that - its just nonstop LOUD music. Some music is fine but its gotten out of hand.

at a stadium like Death Valley. You go from that to the band and it's just weird. It makes the crowd appear quiet because it is so loud.
Then this year, you do the weird double video, eliminate Sock it To Em (Orange Bowl March) and it's just super strange.
We've completely taken the crowd cheering aspect out of it.

The players stand at the top of the hill. It has been a significant reduction. I think there is a way to keep the videos, maintain the OBM & Tiger Rag, and still reduce how long the players stand at the top.
The first week, it flowed well and timing was spot on, but the honoring of Overton is what “threw off” the timing since only two players came down the hill first, then the team followed. Last week, the OBM finished early and there was 20 seconds of dead time between that and the start of the “Dream Big” video. I think if everything is timed correctly, it will be fine & not feel awkward.
More than anything else, I DESPISE we will rock you. It’s awful. I think if everything can be timed correctly, OBM goes into the “Dream Big” video which then goes into the rock video, the canon fires, and Tiger Rag begins.

I have sent it. I was the Freshman Cheerleader in 1968, who fired The Cannon for the freshman games. I do not see why the team's entrance has been changed. In my opinion there are too many loud videos and too much loud music that drowns out the band.

I remember you. I'm a year older but them were the days. The day they started tanking the hill by removing the trees, adding more seats and eliminating general admission etc it was over for me. Glad I have some good memories.
The only thing the PA system was used for was the beautiful prayers and the occasional announcement of upcoming events. Now the fans either play on their phones or watch the humongous video board.

Just save We Will Rock You for the 2nd half coming out of a timeout on defense in a critical situation. I remember quite a few games back in the day that it really got the crowd going coming off a tv break, especially against FSU.
To me doing it before we go down the hill is like someone is poorly executing a dad joke just because we rub the rock and then run down the hill

Imo, it's just an FU to those who build this stadium and are faithfully dedicated to keeping Clemson, Clemson. It's also a certain disrespect for those who lived and loved our university's football program.

this is what should happen:
1. When players are riding the bus around from the WEZ to the EEZ the crowd does the traditional (CLEMSON / TIGERS) cheer with the north and south sides. Let Christian Wilkins lead the cheer from the video board.
2. When the buses stop behind the EEZ the band strikes up OBM with Dale Gilbert saying his traditional line about the most exciting entrance in college football.
3. The players gather at the top of the hill, the cannon fires and Tiger Rag is played twice.
It's really that simple.
Play Eye of the Tiger by Survivor on the speakers after the players get to the sideline.
We will rock you was only cool one time when we played FSU many years ago.
Also please bring back the spelling of C L E M S O N around the stadium!!! It used to be so loud!

Ho hum. For 50+ years I've been going to the games for the games.
I miss the mic man and cheerleader platform but I could not care less about balloons. Some people get really stoked by videos. If the best coach we've ever had wants to run fast across the field, I am
good with that. If fans want to woohoo or not I don't care, Our current and on going long run of winning 90%+ of our games in Death Valley makes me happy.
Right a letter about the Orange Bowl march? RUFKM? If you get started down this road pretty soon you will be caring about other people going to their cars at half time and/or others drinking $14 beers inside the stadium. When will the stupid non-football focus end?
