Today's pitching matchup: RHP Peter Michael (LOU) vs. RHP Chance Fitzgerald (CU)

Fitzgerald's start makes it two days in a row with a sophomore RHP getting his first start for Clemson. He is 3-0 with a 6.98 ERA this season.

Why did we give up on Bailey so early? He was dealing and only had one rocky start against a solid team

I hope he’s not dealing with any soreness or injury. Maybe we have analytics that say Louisville is much better against LH pitchers than RH pitchers. Or we aren’t comfortable with our bullpen. Drew and BJ probably our best high leverage reliever we had. Moving to a starter we don’t really have anyone to fill that spot. Allen and Garris are close.

Ignore my schedule. I suspect to see BJ start the midweek game against UGA. With the series already won we are probably saving a good arm for the Dawgs:

If we can get 3-4 innings with our starter, I would expect to see Ethan or BJ in long relief today. The other would probably start against UGA. Also, with already clinching the series, we will need to give our high leverage bullpen arms a break today.

Curious as well…I mean Darden and leg we stuck with more then Bailey. I hope this isn’t the last of ####. Great outing last night but we have seen this before with some arms this year.
