Salty Cuse fan

So I bet a Cuse alumnus---he was foolish enough to take even odds---on Saturday's game. I even offered him some points, but he was so confident in the win, he insisted on even odds. OK then. So when I tried to collect my $100 yesterday, he refused to pay up saying "The ACC refs cheated Syracuse out of a win." Therefore, he felt he shouldn't have to pay.
For those of you who live in Mount Pleasant/Charleston, is this a typical yankee type of thing? Never in my life have I dealt with someone who welches on a bet. My son suggested I challenge him to a duel, but I told him this was 2018 and that was not an option. Suggestions ?
Axing for a friend.

How about tell him since you have seen his wife that he can keep his 100 . He may need eye surgery one day and you dont want to take money from the fortunate.

In NY, it's common to break someone's fingers, arm, or leg when they don't pay up. Guess he's waiting on a threat of bodily harm before he shells out the dough.

How exactly does he think the refs cheated Syracuse out of a win? The delusion of some people amazes me.
Also, I grew up a yankee, and if I bet on something and lose, I pay up. This must just be a cuse thing.

I like the way your son thinks.
I had a guy refuse to pay me back once and I called a lot of his coworkers at work and told them all that he owed me money and was refusing to pay and to let him know I was showing up at the office to collect. He paid up without me having to go to his office...
That was 20 years ago. Probably couldn't do that anymore...

There it is. That seems to be their go to excuse---the ACC doesn't like us. Personally I always felt it was a huge mistake to invite Cuse, Pitt and BC into the conference.

Easy answer - politely tell him to set up a payment installment plan. This will help him get over the stupidity without saying so!
Second - tell him to start a petition to withdraw his university, along with BC, from the ACC if it pains him to lose so much. I don’t mind Va. Tech? Miami or Pitt, but the two true Yankee schools need to join the American Conference!
Go Tigers ??!!

Coot fan pretending to be a Cuse fan. Coot fans ROUTINELY will welch on bets when they lose, which obviously is often. That is why I usually don't even make bets with them anymore, who needs a pretend bet?

i'm guessing the illegal man downfield but that was in fact the case so that wasn't it. Am i not remembering a iffy call somewhere? All we did was line it up and run it down their throat the whole 2nd half. No Pass interferences or targeting calls...so whats he talking about?

Did he account for no Mullen, Lawrence, Powell, Fields etc?? Did he think they got cheated when they didn’t call targeting or when they said there “was” a receiver in the area when XT demolished their whole OL?

Forget it. Enjoy it! I’m still looking for about $250 from 3 people from 1981 Orange Bowl with Nebraska. All Usuc fans. I see them from time to time. It does my heart good to think how much this must bother them. I just smile and keep counting all the “Ws.”
