Practice News and Notes: A player named Uncle, Ross the standout freshman

A player named Uncle and a player that makes defenders cry uncle. The Clemson football team held the final practice of fall camp Tuesday and several players spoke with the media following the session. Quarterback Kelly Bryant was his usual funny and laid-back self during interviews, and he said that Monday’s “Club Day” and “Lake Day” were must-see entertainment. Full Story »

Ross, not Lawerence

It's interesting that Simmons thought that the most impressive freshman in Camp was Ross and not TL. I can't wait to watch Ross in action.

Ya think, I'm a thinking that coaches have reminded guys that the more the QB's are left out of their conversations in front of the media, the less they will hear the word controversy bc, media and fans hear controversy when they hear how competitive it is with individual positions. The players have been told that the media create's controversy from what they know as competition!!! When you have the talent that we have at QB, The media tries to make the competition out to be more than it is, and they will try to get team mates to make comments about the QB competition so to add fuel to their "controversial" theory!!!

Or maybe they knew exactly what TL was and the biggest freshman surprise was really Ross. They have had 6 months to adjust to TL and they know his potential. They have had 1 month to get acclimated to the freakish ability of Ross.
It will be scary for opponents if we put Tee Higgins and Jaylen Ross on the two boundaries. Both have speed to burn and have unbelievable hands.

Evidently we have the second comings of Peyton Manning and Julio Jones on the team... and that’s without mentioning our freshman RB, who has drawn rave reviews as well. Excited for these freshman to get to show their stuff.

Or maybe with Simmons playing safety and having to guard a freakish man child with catcher’s mitts for hands, he got a taste of what defenses are going to see for the next 3 years!!! Elite vs elite!! Go Tigers!!
