Not convinced i see what rod hall brings to the table... PG without consistent shot, ability to dribble drive, or size to matchup on D
In general, any senior in any sport who isnt the teams top 10% talent should be reconsidered as starter

Us and every other school that recruited him, recruited him to play PG. Explain away, why he was more consistent his freshman season when he was at PG vs the last two seasons at SG where he has been inconsistent.
Need to learn a whole lot more about our players before calling people stupid.

I have already proven that I know much more about Roper's background and how teams were recruiting him out of high school, than you do. The first part of your second sentence describes Hall more than Roper. He didn't do it all in high school. He only played point in high school. And I know how Coach Whipple at Irmo High School coaches (have seen his coaching style my whole life), he doesn't move players around to different positions unless they are truly capable of playing different positions.
Back to my original point, don't challenge a person who knows more about a certain play than you do.

Your argument is based purely on false assertions that Rod Hall is a great offensive PG. Which the stats prove otherwise. Again tell me how many times Hall has brought us out of scoring drought by distributing the ball and getting some movement out of the offense?

obviously false suggestions that Jordan Roper is a point guard and Rod Hall is not. It has no basis in fact.
Jordan Roper played a great game today and showed why he can be our best shooting guard. Rod Hall played great defense on one of the best offensive players in the league while dishing out 6 assists and we won big, yet you thought it best to launch into a misplaced and totally incorrect criticism of Hall.
Admit your mistake and move on.

It's beyond a fact that he is a liability on offense. That's not a slam, but based on facts. You were still unable to answer my question as to how many times Hall has led us out of a scoring drought through distributing the ball and getting movement out of the offense? Just answer the question. Admit your mistake and move on. And stop attacking Clemson fans for enjoying a win and giving props to the MVP of the game.
You should be enjoying this win, instead of being hellbent on putting down your fellow tiger fans and the player that led us to victory. So glad, Clemson fans I meet in real life are the exact opposite of you.

He shot 41% on his three point tries. His three point percentage has gone down each year. THAT is what has changed for him.

Roper is a shooting guard. He is not a point guard.
Jan 31, 2015, 5:01 PM
[ in reply to Roper will be much more consistent at PG, it's his natural.. ] |
|
If you watch, you will notice that he seldom if ever goes to his right hand. He avoids it like the plague even when guys force him to his right. A point guard has to be good with both hands. As a result, he gets trapped a lot and he lacks the size to pass over it and the strength to step through it.
Plus, you really are dissing Rod, who is a very good point guard. As Roper, and hopefully others, open up the floor with the three point shot, you will see Rod get to the basket more and more, getting fouled often, with his superior strength. We haven't had a legitimate outside threat all season to open things up for Rod, until the last few games with Roper now stepping up in the shooting guard role. Today, Rod was counted on to expend too much energy on the defensive end to be a huge threat on the offensive end, though he did have 6 assists.

on offense. If Rod Hall is so great offensively at PG, why does he rarely have assists. When we have our scoring droughts does Rod Hall ever bring us out of them by distributing the ball and getting movement on offense? No. One of the main reasons we have long scoring droughts is Hall's inability to get assists and get movement out of the offense. Rod Hall plays hard and is great defensive player, but he is a huge liability as far as running the offense from the PG position. If you can't see that you don't know basketball.

I'm a strong supporter of Brownell, but that doesn't necessarily means he always makes the right decisions. Every coach, no matter how good they are, can make a miscalculation. So don't even try to change this into me slamming Brownell. That line of thinking isn't going work on me.

Halls weaknesses on the offensive end do not mean that roper is a better overall PG.
Hall is a MUCH better defender. That makes up for it in Brownells eyes. Also nothing has shown that Roper would be a great PG.

He has the frame of a diminutive pg. He is a 2g in a pg's body. Other than that, he resembles nothing of a pg

Lmao @ Roper being anything close to a "natural point guard". He is a terrible passer but has gotten better. He is a shoot first player. What part of that is "natural point guard"?

watch much and considering the things you complain about HIM doing are what Roper struggles at MORE, well, I'd believe you don't watch much...Inconsistent shot? Roper is more inconsistent... Ability to dribble drive? Roper makes Rod look like CP3...Size to match up on D? Again, Roper makes Rod look like an ALL Star...Roper is an undersized SG for a reason, learn to live with it

Only thing Hall is better at over Roper is defense...

Roper can actually distribute the ball. Rod Hall gets defended by shorter players, Roper takes on much taller defenders every game. Roper is a better offensive PG than Hall, learn to live with it.

Rod Hall had 6 assists today to Jordan's 2.

The facts just don't support your argument.

How often does Rod Hall get 6 assists....

and of course Roper is going to have less assists at the SG position, that's just natural. For the season Hall only averages 3.6 assists per game only 2 more than Roper per game, so yes the facts do support my argument.

Not gonna argue with you anymore. We won today....

and we won because of what I originally pointed out, because of Roper. Tigernet has became so pathetic, when Clemson fans are attacking a Clemson fan for pointing out a Clemson player is good. I can have my own opinion on Roper all I want.
Instead of calling me an idiot, stupid, or "queen". You should be celebrating the win with me, instead of insulting me and Jordan Roper. Just grow up man. I'm glad Tiger fans I meet in real life, are the complete opposite of people like you and others like you on tnet that hate another Clemson fan for enjoying a win.

He is certainly performing at a high level; I'm somewhat suspicious of his intentions to become the next great Clemson Wide Receiver.
