Road rage (not Deptula). A first for me. Came up on an accident on White

Horse Road (Greenville) this morning. The two interior lanes of a three-lane road were blocked. Everyone fell in line way back as you could see the EMT/Police presence from a distance. In my rearview mirror I saw a newer, white car hauling butt up the middle lane. He kept coming...maybe he passed 20 cars... until he was blocked by the accident and had my truck on his right. This fool starts coming over!

The driver looked to be in his 30's. An older woman (his mother?) sat in the passenger seat. A dog in the back. Their windows were down. I laid on my horn that could only have been 18-24" from the woman's head. The driver ignored me. The woman ignored me. The dog did show concern as his eyes got real big. This guy was coming. He knew I was there but he was coming anyway. When he was 4" from my side I made the decision to swerve to my right and brake.

The next light caught the car. I pulled up beside them to give him a piece of my mind. But before I could say anything he gunned it and shot through the redlight.

People have absolutely lost their minds. Courtesy, patience, and the law did not apply to them. And if you want to defend him by saying he may have had a medical emergency...he passed (and almost hit) two ambulances at the wreck.

I am thankful at that moment I had nothing to throw or shoot at him. I would have been the guy on the news.

100% truth. Can't even explain to people how dangerous the roads were out there. Being on 635, 75 or 35E were potentially life altering (or ending) actions.

And I wouldn't care a lick, except they're bound to take one or more of us with them.

I got into a wreck back in October over in Georgia, coming back from Atlanta on 985/US123. About 15 cars stopped at the light, we stopped. Lady in car behind us stopped. SUV behind her never even slowed down. Rammed her so hard that she came into us hard enough to bend the frame and break the rear axle (our car was totaled by insurance). Her car was an accordion around the space frame trunk and front end both collapsed. EMS took her away. Driver's car *almost* went into oncoming traffic, too, but the extra wide turn lanes along that road allowed him to not do that. His front end was totally smashed too. EMS took him away also.

We were very lucky to have nothing more than bruises and a few scraps from the seat belt. Air bags didn't go off in our car, I guess because it was a rear-impact.

Cops at the scene said the idiot was on his phone. It's not like it snuck up on him, we were like the 5 or 6th car back from the light in our lane and visible for at least a mile or two down the road.

Just a routine thing here in Atlanta.

A guy is driving along with his friend, and he goes right through a red light. His friend says, "What are you doing?", and he replies, "Never mind, will you? My brother drives like this."

He goes a little bit further, comes to another red light and goes right through it. "What are you doing?" "I told you, will you stop it, my brother drives like this!"

Then further down the road, he comes to a green light and stops. His friend is confused. "What are you doing now?!", and he replies, "Well, my brother might be coming the other way."

Tailgaters are everywhere these days. I don't allow that. I backed them off by braking or slow down to a creep. And turn signals, forget that. Law enforcement could easily reach their budget if they would ticket those who don't use turn signals.

lol good luck with that

The cops in this state are the worst ones. They tailgate, drive as fast as they want - for absolutely no reason, and NEVER USE THEIR TURN SIGNALS.

If you’re hoping for the cops to set a good example, well you can go ahead and forget about that.

While I don't agree with what he did at all in terms of him being a total #### and just pushing you off to the shoulder then running the red light, he also wasn't wrong in using all the open lanes until they merge (though not speeding down it if he did do that). That is the proper way to keep traffic moving. Use lanes until they end, and do a zipper merge.

Going single file way before lanes merge creates more traffic issues further back, with cars even blocking intersections because they don't want to wait.

Also it is now a crime in SC for not pulling over to the next lane (when possible) to let faster drivers by. However, in that instance it probably does not apply.

That isn’t zipper merging. Yall were unnecessarily creating stopped traffic.

That happened to me last week on I-95 entering Washington DC. Right about the Reagan Airport exit there are three lanes and on the right there are two more lanes that just come to an end and those two have to merge into the three lanes. I had already let one car merge in front of me, as I always do, as they have to get in the lane sooner or later, but the car behind him just kept edging closer and closer until he was a few inches. One of us had to give in (me) or we would have hit. I guess the idiots that do that cr*p know that the other person will eventually yield.

An idiot was driving aggressively running people off the road, cut off two guys. The idiot flashed his gun several times. The victims called 911 and decided to follow the idiot. The idiot stopped in the middle of the road with the vets behind, got out of his car.

Here's where it gets a little fuzzy. Some say he took a shot at the victims. Some say they didn't see a shot. They opened fire on him killing the idiot in the middle of the road.

In Atlanta. You need to check out some youtubes of entitled people. They are all over the place. It's just as well you didn't get a chance to give a piece of your mind. You may have gotten shot, or at least threatened.
One thing I've learned here is let them go and have their accident somewhere else. It's not worth it to get into it with them.

I used to give a piece of my mind and get rage, but my wife swore if I ever did that again, she would get out of the car and find her own way home. And when I got home, I could find the couch. She finally got through to me when she said I was putting the lives of everyone in my car in danger, no matter how right I was in driving and how wrong the other person was.

So again, let them go and have their accident elsewhere. They are not worth it. Sooner or later they will get pulled for some serious charges and they will cry and swear the police are doing them wrong. Or they may get in an accident and get the Hell sued out of them.
