If you’re going to pay college athletes based on NIL the schools should tax that transaction and distribute the money to every living player who ever played at that school! These players of the past helped build the facilities and brand that current players are profiting from. Flame away!

Poor things…all they got out of it was a free college education which should have changed the trajectory of their lives plus the chance to play college sports with all the perks available back in the day

I agree… I don’t feel sorry for them one bit. I don’t understand why they are going back 5 years on a lawsuit. You get what you sign up for at the time. Things will always change in the future.

That was back when a bachelors degree meant something! Now colleges take in all comers limited only by housing availability not academic standards. NIL needs guardrails and I think current players should have to pay a tribute tax for the brand they didn’t build.

Revenue sharing isn't NIL and has nothing to do with it.
If reparations are due, the schools would be responsible for paying them. Yeah, let's do that and bankrupt every FBS school in America including Clemson.

“College football fans” on average don’t give a tinkers #### about pro football! The two worlds are now colliding but the average CFF will stop supporting when the product on the field dissipates as it is currently doing. The institutions will take action and dissolve athletic programs. Or even more likely, the NFL will begin to realize college football is not subservient to them but in fact Is their competition!

This is ridiculous. Current players are not responsible for historical players. Congress is working a law making the schools create a pool of money for prior players, especially health related issues, and it’s going to be a big number. Of course, schools with big war chests will be fine. Those without will be hurt even worse.
We are watching the death spiral of college football. Pretty soon there will only be a handful of teams with all the players, and everyone else will lose interest. It was fun while it lasted.

I disagree. I’ve worked at places and got paid what we agreed upon. Then some time down the road they up the pay for the new people coming in and the newbies made more than I did when they started out. My employer didn’t back-pay any of us who had been there longer. It’s just how it works.
