It seems like there is some nice talent there, but obviously too small. We need an amazing class in 2026 or the writing is on the wall as far as declining. That said, I like this class and I think we are in the right track, as long as 2026 is skrong.

I see it like this, Dabo and the staff has until February 5th to try and replace the ones who didn't have the first clue of what commitment means, and we don't realize how lucky we are that they went back on their word bc they were of pretty poor character and anyone of them could have been that really bad apple that could've infected our entire bunch of recruits that wanted to be a Tiger and play at Clemson university...

We've all heard at some time in our life that one thing or another was a blessing in disguise, well those few recruits that were never taught the meaning of commitment, it was a blessing for the team that they decommitted before they're poor character had a chance to rub off on any of the high character kids that were taught the meaning of commitment, and they were blessed when those few bad apples took their poor character elsewhere!!! Go Tigers!!!!

This is such a dumb post. I'm a Clemson grad. I mostly enjoyed my time there. But it's a university. You pay them a lot of money for a piece of paper that will increase your employability. That's it. You can be close with your classmates/roommates, but the university administration is entirely apathetic to you if it can't benefit them. It's why the only time you hear from them is when they want money.

It's even more of a business exchange for football players, who are shuttled into fake degrees and crip courses. They go to a school for two things: (1) to play for championships, (3) to make NIL money, and (2) to make it to the NFL. If a player gets to Clemson and isn't good enough, you have 0 issue with them riding the bench for their career. You don't have any loyalty towards them unless they can produce. So why should they possess some extreme sense of loyalty and commitment to a school they never even attended?

The idea that it is a moral failing for them to choose a school that gives them a better chance at all three is absolutely insane. Anyone that would take Clemson over Michigan with a huge amount of NIL money is an idiot. Michigan is a better football program than us right now. They're the defending champions who just beat Ohio State. We are 2-8 against top 25 teams in the past 4 years and this year got beaten by every good team we've played. Michigan offers players far, far more money to play there guaranteeing instant money for the risk they put their bodies through. Michigan has had 33 players drafted in the last 4 drafts. We've had 18 (and that includes the class with Trevor Lawrence, ETN, and Amari). On top of all that, Michigan is a significantly better school than Clemson academically.

But please tell me more about how a 17 year old kid choosing them has poor character.

It appears we have a relatively large number of returning players. We'll probably have a few transfers out, but not as many as in the past. We've redshirted a lot of guys. Not a lot of playing time available anywhere, espectially at safety and corner for true freshmen.

This argument doesn't hold much water. We're losing 4 from our 2 deep in the secondary. Michigan is losing 5, so it's pretty much a wash. Our secondaries are ranked very close to one another statistically, but our average opponent's passing offense was #62, while theirs was #39. I think it's really hard to conclude that there's a meaningful difference in playing time opportunities between the two schools, especially since we run a lot more nickels than they do.

Every recruit knows Clemson, our success and the power of the paw.

Yet, we're back to signing classes equivalent to a first time interim coach following many mediocre seasons.

I don't really agree with you here. I'm sure they know Clemson, but we're more removed from our success than you think, especially for a high school kid. Let's take a high school junior. They were in 5th grade the last time we won a championship. They were 10 years old, and probably didn't even watch football then. In the time they've been considering football, we've been a good, but not great team. Then they have coaches in their ear telling them that Clemson are has-beens with a coach that can't adapt to the times. And that matches what they see. So I think the "power of the paw" is less powerful than you think. That's why a win on Saturday and a good showing in the playoffs is so important. You have to remind them and prove the naysayers wrong. If you can't, then it's pretty much over.

Dabos disbelief in the transfer portal and how we don’t use NIL like other colleges do has certainly hurt us. Another issue has been the lack of development when inexperienced coaches were promoted. I understand that Dabo wanted to provide opportunities he was provided when he moved from interim coach to head coach, but he took on too many inexperienced position coaches at once.

The brand has taken a big hit and other schools have been trending up while Clemson has been trending down. I am not suggesting the firing of the head coach, but pray he re evaluates some of the coaches and goes after top coaches from other schools for replacements.

We have a pretty good class coming in, but have little depth. I hope Dabo will supplement a few transfer portal players and get someone to better manage NIL so we can be competitive.

If no changes are made and more recruits are brought in, then I can’t help but think we could be in for another 9-3 regular season as other schools are adapting while we continue to fall behind. One thing I do notice is that just about every school has little depth compared to years past. It is especially noticeable this season.

The landscape is changing in college football. Kids might commit early to start the bidding wars. Someone from this site mentioned that they should get red of Signing Day and when a kid commits, he signs a contract for at least 1 or 2 years. It would be nice to have a cap on NIL, but schools would find a way around it.

We are lucky to get in the ACC Championship game this year and hope we win or keep it close. It’s kind of embarrassing an outside team joining the conference for the first time could be in it. It’s not like it’s a Georgia team or Oregon team either.

Clemson has the money. Before a major retook recently we were 17th largest NIL purse. After partnering with IPTAY and a very generous donor we vaulted into the top 10. Dabo needs to go buy a Cam Ward. A Travis Hunter. And some depth.

OneJedi NIL money comes from sponsors, those high profile guys in the portal are after the under the table type of money for them to play for any school, they are wanting millions, and the NIL sponsors aren't handing out that much money for a single player. That's why those high profile player went in the portal, they couldn't get what they want from the NIL at whatever school they were at, and that's 100% the reason they went to the portal, for more cash. Surely no one actually believe those high profile players are getting NIL money while hanging out in the portal, bc they're not getting a dime while in the portal. They're in the portal to make their own deal with a school that has lots of donor money to spend, and that's what they're after!!!

Most fans refuse to believe that it takes millions to get the best players from the portal, but it does, and that means they're going to be pisssed at Dabo when he can't get those high dollar players to come play at Clemson. Most of our fans don't make enough money in a year that it takes to get those high dollar players from the portal!!!

That why we have NIL and free transfers.

Lots of programs are thriving in the new paradigm. We aren't doing nearly as well as a lot of other schools because of Dabo's stubbornness.

Limited quality depth. No meaningful portal gets. 7 decommits. We already lost Stellato to to the portal, before the window even opens on December 9. If we lose to SMU that numer will probably increase.

Our special teams are bad. Our coaches, with limited exceptions are not developing guys like Dabo claims we do. Boneheaded in game moves like taking Sammy Brown out and letting Sellers shred us. 1-2 against SC and Beamer. 1-3 against teams with a pulse, and one play from losing to Pitt.

This isn't a recipe for trending up or even maintaining what we have. I hope we hear SMU, but if we do win the ACCCG, it will be because we play in a like if a conference.

Just start donating the millions that's needed to bring the players that maybe better than some that we have, I'm sure he wouldn't hesitate to try and get them to Clemson, if fact I would bet that he would make an honest attempt to get them to Clemson if he had the millions that it takes to get the high quality high 4 star and 5 star players from the portal, but I would also bet that 99.99% of Clemson donors aren't donating that type of money to our athletic department that would buy those high quality players from the portal.

Did the Dandy Dozen class have 7 de-commits like this class had? Our program is not trending well. You have a flawed philosophy from the coach who won’t engage in the portal, you have a drop in the quality of play on the field, and a perception of the program from the outside that we are a declining program.

None of this is good and once the recruiting issues start you have serious problems.
