Remember USF bowl game? Be greatful

Don't get me wrong, when you win championships, that becomes the goal, and I'm pissed too... but some of you guys just don't seem to remember what Clemson was before Dabo and don't enjoy how great this program is. Before Dabo, we would have to worry about slipping to a team like Maryland or BC. We have gotten so arrogant to think that losing 1-2 games a year means we have fallen. We get every team's best shot and have won 10+ games for almost a decade.
Are there things that need to be corrected? Yes. I'm not blind. But some of you guys are so quick to forget how far this program has come. Saban has won 7 titles - it doesn't happen every year.
Enjoy the moment, because 1 day in the future we may be fighting to beat Boston College or Virginia again and I can promise you'll regret taking the great seasons and program for granted.

No doubt that Dabo will right the ship. He always does. As you said BE GREATFUL. Clemson is still and elite program with a great coach. We are not going anywhere.

I swear this must be someone's scok posting the same drivel.
Nobody isn't grateful with the wins. It's the fact we could easily be that 2010 team record wise. We've been barely getting by some pretty bad teams in retrospect. It's the fact this team seems lacking in a good few areas (QB, WR, fire, leadership, coaching). It's the fact we aren't even close to playing to our potential for a few years now and has been declining and not really improving or seem willing to improve or move forward. And I hate to break it to you, we have been fighting to beat the BC's and Virginias of this conference lately.
Enough with these deflections to the past post. They solve nothing and are just lazy.

It's not being ungrateful to be concerned

about our program's trajectory over the last couple of years.
It's precisely because we are grateful - and appreciate the success and effort it took to get there - that some of us feel that significant mistakes have occurred and want to see them corrected.

Maybe, and I'm just spit ballin' here. Maybe people do remember those days and have seen a gradual decline in play on the field the last few seasons and want it to stop.
Part of what has kept Saban at the top is a willingness to evolve. He used to speak out against the high temp offense and said it was a safety issue. Over the last several season Alabama has had more of a high-octane offense. This year they lack speed at WR or they would be dominate again.
Our offense is about as vanilla as they come. Why? QB, scheme, execution, recruiting fails? I don't know but I'd guess it's a combination of those things. Why did we recruit the #1 pocket QB and not someone who was a dual threat QB? Why haven't we adjusted our offense to play to DJ's strengths (whatever those may be) and not expect him to effectively run an RPO offense?
Why all of the in-house promotions? I understand Dabo's style and wish to promote within and I'm all for it is some circumstances. But it's pretty evident we've missed on the offensive coordinator position and possibly the D coordinator as well.
Why are the coaches coming out and telling fans to be thankful we aren't 4-4 or 5-3? We aren't having a rash of injuries like last year, and we aren't breaking in a new QB. We had the most talked about and touted Defensive line since 2018 and they haven't been world beaters.
A lot of people have a lot of questions. Again, for me it wasn't about the loss, it was about how we lost and how bad we looked coming off a bye week.
I think Dabo will right the ship, but I don't see any big changes coming. Guess we'll see.

You are very correct about that plain vanilla offense.
Recruiting Fails is an interesting point. Coaching in the Charlotte Area there is a truckload of college talent. I do find it interesting though some of the guys are 3-5 stars really don't seem all that great.
Camps and 7on7 leagues have boosted recruiting rankings for guys based on their body and speed.
I see many of these 7on7 league stars come to games and want NO PART of the real game of football.
Wonder if we have gotten some of those dudes? Who knows.

By forcing Dabos hand to fire an inept offensive coordinator and bringing in an innovative / cutting edge / up tempo offensive mind that attracted elite playmakers on offense.
A year later the SAME thing happened for the defense.

Noon kickoff at BOA. Sat behind some USF jerk and his virking horned helmet. Insult to injury, we lost to a Skip Holtz coached team! I think qb Kyle Parker was still hurting from playing macho game of chicken with an Auburn DB. Much like the 6 to 9 loss to GA last year, we were the only team to take National Champ Auburn to OT (don’t get me started on the missed chip shot FG for the win!). One positive from the USF Mieneke Car Biwl

One positive from the USF Mieneke Car Bowl was new qb in the 4th quarter- some dude with a funny name- Taj Boyd! You could see the potential he had and despite the USF loss, the future looked good!
Finally, day ended on a positive note as I made it back to the Lowcounty in time for a New Years Eve oyster roast!
Go Tigers!

As was I. I was 15 years old. Sat 20 or so rows from the sideline on Clemson side. Security personnel at BOA were a$$holes as well. Forgot a rather expensive jacket my parents just bought me for Christmas in my seat. Right when I took one step out the gate, I remembered and had to turn around to get it. They fought tooth and nail to not let me in to get it. Had to argue with them to just even escort me back to the seat to get it and they (security) had their @$$ on their shoulders about it too. Like man, I'm literally a kid smh. Made a sour day even more sour because of them. (Gameclock was roughly 30 seconds away from being over.) Never had that problem or any other problem at any other stadium as I did with just them. Remembered Tajh coming in that game and knew then and there he was going to be the next best thing since sliced bread for the program at the time though.
