Stars and rankings doesn't mean he's going to be any better!

Hardly, seen plenty 5 stars get their #### handed to them. Just take a look at Grady Jarret when your pups come to town, he was practically unrated and unwanted and then come back and tell me if those stars make a d@mn...

Wonder how he will feel when he notices that his job consist of being double teamed every play because of the 3-4 scheme UGay runs there.

He has chosen. Time will tell whether it was wise, or not. I wish him the best.

They do seem to recruit a lot of players who have legal issues. MR recruits stars, not necessarily character. Kind of says something about what he really believes is important on his teams. They have under achieved as badly as any team in the country when you look at their facilities, the conference hype, the sec cash that buys those things and pays top salaries for coaches and frees up a lot of booster money to be used elsewhere. That said, their game against AL in their Conf. Ch. game was a great game. It rivaled the one we lost at Auburn several years ago when it came to the intensity of the game and the hitting by both teams. Our game with ugay will be a war, and on paper they should win. They have more stars on their team, but so did LSU.

I believe they always sign a big class. Then they seem to throw away those they don't want. I believe the kids are just names on a page to them.

No we don't always have a big class. CMR usually doesn't fill the class minus last year. You can take your unranked DT and we'll take our # 2 ranked DT. Don't be prick. If he chose you guys you'd be talk'n him up. It's just a game.

and I'm unbiased, since they both went to different schools. Lamont looks like he carries a lot of bad weight. Having said that I still think he is a great player and we missed out on one.

Interesting for a 5 star, not a ton of offers. Yea the Bama, Fla, Fla St, ND, are big but usually a 4 or 5 star has tons plus Louisville, Arkansas, So Cal, etc.
he had very regional offers. Either everyone knew he was staying close to home or he was a bit overrated. Still a great player I'm sure but odd list of schools

Might be a small fact, but non-rated Jabril Robinson had 12 sacks as a junior compared to 4 for the 5-star.

If Jabril had committed to an sec school, he would have more stars.

There needs to be a new way of ranking/rating a player
Jul 21, 2013, 1:04 PM

Star rating doesn't mean the guy will do anything on the field, it means he should do something on the field, I think the best way to see what a guy can do is to do what Dabo and the coaches are doing now and have been doing for the past couple of years, and not put your trust in these recruiting sites because there rating system is not a accurate. We've had 5 star guys who didn't do anything on the field, either cause of off the field issues or problems staying healthy but we've also had no star guys who've had to earn there playing time and they've been some of the best players on the field.
