For the conference & themselves due to their teams advancing even though eventually losing (at $3 to $5 Million payouts per game as they continue to advance to the finals) and could make even more, like $90 Million, while the ACC is projected at making a possible high of $18 or so Million Total, if Duke wins.
That’s a lot of difference!
This sort of discrepancy may not have been going on for a long time in MBB but has being going on for umpteen years as far as football is concerned and how the higher take-home $ have helped SEC FB outdo other programs with stadium & facility upgrades..while Clemson FB has survived it vs instate Usc in facility upgrades and total overall win margins, so far.
But it’s about to change dramatically and it’s financially obvious that the SEC (and BiG) has the ability to outpace Clemson and the ACC in the near future.

I mean the extra money clemson will now get in the settlement will help but I don’t think we will catch up until 2029-2030 when we leave the acc. That’s when the buyout will be 75 million or so and BIG 10 and SEC renew their tv deals. That is when the ACC will probably collapse. Go Tigers!’

You're making way too much of an assumption that we're going to be able to leave the acc. To leave, we got to have somewhere to go, and there's no guarantee at all the Big Ten Or SEC want to expand again.

I challenge you to get in your car and tour the Clemson campus and look at every sports facility and then pick any SEC school and do the same with their facilities. Our administration, AD and donors have made facilities a priority and we are absolutely not behind other schools.

That's not true. You may could pick a few sports but not overall. Compare McWhorter to dudy field miss st, lsu, or Texas A&M. You'd think you're at a pro venue. Look at their tennis facilities next to ours.
We're compatible in football for now. But like Bill said, won't be long before the differences will show up.
I'm not saying that's the end all, be all. Sometimes kids go to Duke to play football. There are cases here and there, but it will be felt.
