Raise your hand if you already knew we weren't a top 10 team before last night

We've feasted on weak teams, but in so doing we've proven we don't have quality depth, particularly on defense.

I'm not a big fan of Cade, particularly his deep ball, but last night wasn't on him. That was one of his better games.

Our offensive identity, however, still has not been established. Playcalling is mindnumbingly bad at times.

On defense, #0 has all the talent in the world, but he has not improved a bit over the last two years. His tackling is poor, gap integrity is bad.

#44 on defense looks like he'd be a quality starter at the FCS level. He gets pinned inside too much and rarely makes plays.

Overall, we are obviously short on high quality depth all over the place on defense, and especially on the oline on offense.

One or two of these issues would be hard to overcome to be a top ten team.

But we've got all this and more going on. And, its been pretty obvious all season if you're paying close attention.

My confidence that we were a true Top 10 team had started to wane from watching UGA play since our loss to them.

And I’m not talking about their hair’s breadth loss to Bama.

KY nearly beat them. KY is spectacularly mediocre.

An already mediocre FL, weakened further by needing to play their 3rd string QB, made it a game until into Q4. The UGA teams from 2021, 2022, and 2023 would have crushed both KY and FL.

Yet, UGA utterly obliterated us when we were on offense, and made the halftime adjustments to obliterate our defense in the second half.

Meanwhile, as we struggled physically against poor teams like FSU and Stanford, further evidence became clear that we were not Top 10 material.

Of course I wanted to believe and rationalized that beating those 6 patsies after the UGA loss had provided us with enough reps to be ready to show our stuff against truly decent teams.

Big wrong on me.
