I think a better question is…… Was FSU really the fourth best team in the country with Travis?

Aren't you supposed to win all your games on the field?

TX and Bama no, MICH yes, because you literally need one fg to beat Iowa. One PI call in the right spot and you win!

But that isn't the question the CFP Committee has to answer

The question they have to answer "Is FSU a better team with their current QB situation than Texas, Michigan, Washington, or Alabama?"
I contend they are not and are therefore not one of the best 4 teams.

FSU's # 2 QB would be available for playoff...that's different than tonight....

He went and won a SEC road game last week...isn't that like worth bonus points according to Kirby and St. Nick?
No one wants to talk about how Michigan hasn't played anyone with a pulse with the exception of Ohio State, and that was at home....maybe at Penn State counts for something. But the Big10 was dreadful overall...and they played no one out of conference.
Not convinced Michigan would dominate FSU...even with a # 2 QB (or Washington for that matter). They'll see some speed in the CFP that they have not seen all year.

How can they excuse Alabama’s need for a “miracle” at Auburn? How can they bypass Texas with Alabama considering the head to head?

offense last week. FSU's 3rd String QB went 8 for 21 - 55 yds and a total of 219 yards of offense this week. That's an offensive average of 221 yards/game with both QB's hitting less than 50% on their passes. FSU wasn't playing against playoff caliber teams while putting up these low offensive numbers...
Compare that to the last two games from Texas, Alabama, Washington, and Michigan - all of which played much stiffer competition and with better offensive numbers.
So what is FSU's top win compared to all the others? FSU's best win is LSU (a 3 loss team)
Alabama beat LSU and beat UGA (1 loss team)
Texas beat Alabama (1 loss team)
Michigan beat Ohio State (1 loss team)
Washington beat Oregon (1 loss team)...twice...
The CFP's charter is finding the 4 best teams. I think there is an argument to be made that the other conference champions (Michigan, Texas, Alabama, and Washington) have better resume's based on both recent stats and best wins.

They are not better, but they may be more deserving. And I know the committee is set up to determine the best teams, but I don't think that's always the case. I mean, going into this week they still had FSU at 4 and Bama at 8.

Exactly. NO way should Alabama vault past FSU.
