Is a 47 pitch count in the first inning bad? If so that Xavier pitcher might be in trouble.

New research shows that one high stress inning(pitch volume plus stress) can be more harmful than exceeding the cumulative pitch limit for the game.

Considering that’s about 3 innings in one I’d say yea.

This kid Hoskins apparently went 7 innings against Vanderbilt in the tournament last year in a 2-1 win to knock out the Commodores. Go figure.
