Question for those calling for Dabo's head

Exactly what "big name" coach in his right mind would take a job at a place where you win 10 games three years in a row and get fired?

Dabo is our coach. Why wouldn't we defend him?

I think he feels worse than any of us, as do Venables and Morris. Bet you loved them when we beat LSU and UGa. You could just pull for teams who win each week. That way, you will always be right.

Not saying it doesn't matter. I'm hurting like the rest of you. Just saying we can't realistically expect to lure a "big name" if we fire a guy winning 10 games each year.

Think everyone is just spouting off in the heat of the moment. Things will be back to normal in no time. Feel bad for those Clemson fans who live in Columbia.

10-2, so if we lose to FSU every year and lose to SC every year. Would you be happy. Petrino is a top of the line coach. Yes, he has baggage. But that is a risk worth taking. Swinney: 5 straight to SC 1st time in 110 years. Worst loss in major bowl history vs WVU. Worst loss @ DV.I love Dabo personally, but is a business. And our competitor is cornering the market.

Ohio State had the same dilemma...

with Cooper. Went and got Tressel. Did pretty well for them until that whole 'lied to the NCAA' bit. So it's not like you can't replace a coach that wins a lot with someone who does better. Still, the argument could be looked at the other direction can't it? Most of the time you walk into a situation that's a dumpster fire(which is why the previous coach was dismissed). What coach wouldn't want to walk into a situation where he has a ton of talent, and only really a few tough games each year?

No I wouldn't be happy but you are forgetting big wins against quality teams Ga. ,Fla St., LSU, Auburn ,Va Tech. twice, it's not like he never wins the "big one"......

Look at the teams we beat to get to 10 wins.

Georgia 8-4, W SC State 9-4 W NC State 3-9 W Wake 4-8 W Syracuse 6-6 W BC 7-5 W FSU 11-0 L Maryland 7-5 W Virginia 2-10 W Georgia Tech 7-5 W Citadel 5-7 W South Carolina 10-2 L
Dabo gets it done against teams with 8 wins or less, ignoring FCS schools. In years past we would have dropped a game to one of those 7-5 teams (Maryland or GT) and I give Dabo credit for taking care of business there. But is Dabo the person to take us to a national championship? Imagine if this year we had the 4 game playoff. Last nights game could have gotten us in (seeing how teams above us lost). Would losing to USC be unacceptable to more people then? For many the sheer fact of dropping 5 consecutive double digit blow outs to USC is unacceptable. Imagine if we had just lost our ticket to the playoffs.
Basically the three most important (in terms of rank and national perception) games of this season, UGA, FSU, USC, we went 1-2 (bowl game hopefully could change that to 2-2). Similar to last year where the three biggest (on paper in terms of rank), FSU, USC, LSU, we went 1-2. Is this a trend? Bowden was fired because of the consistent losses every year to an unranked team. Let's face it, his loyalty to subpar coordinators and soft coaching style got him fired but how is Dabo different? We're not losing to unranked teams anymore but we are stumbling on the national stage. Frequently. Negative trends get coaches fired. I'm seeing some trends with Swinney.
