say "Go Tigers"? At the Masters, as usual, I wore my Clemson shirt and hat. Throughout the day, I had 20-25 people say "Go Tigers" but also 2 or 3 people say "Go Cawks" (they were all either working concessions or in the gift shop, so teenagers).
While in line to purchase a Masters hat the young man behind the counter noticed my Clemson Softball hat and says "Go Tigers". We chatted, and he said his cousin plays softball for Clemson...a girl named Basinger (Reese is from Evans, Georgia a suburb of Augusta). I told him that we loved Reese and that she was a great addition to our ball club. His co-worker butts in and asks are "y'all talking about football, blah, blah"...and the dude I'm talking with turns and tells him to shutup and mind his own business. Cool kid.

I generally don’t verbally antagonize fans from opposing teams. I have had many experiences similar to what you describe from fans of other teams. Coots and bucknuts seem to be the most frequent.

I usually do in jest and start and honest conversation with them. I usually give several platitudes after joking about how much they stink. The arrogance of Jawga and OCRYO State always amaze me. The coots are usually gracious and admit we are superior in every way. They are usually praying for a win and don’t seem to expect it.
My wife tells me all the time I talk too much. I do. I haven’t met a stranger yet. It’s served me well in life for the most part. After all, I get paid to listen and responding is just as important.

Some years ago when I was an over the road, long haul guy I went into the truckstop to pay for my reserved parking. As I stepped up to the fuel desk the attendant saw my Clemson ballcap and did the O-H-I-O thing at me. ….So I responded with a one hand gesture of 3-1-dash-0

I always have interesting interactions with other fan bases. Coots are bad but OCRYO State and UGA fans seem to be worse. The coots are generic and know it. The other ones think they’re better than everyone else. They project this air of Clemson who?! I just smile and say you know who, you’re daddy. Although I don’t have as much high ground to stand on with UGA fans. They’ve kinda owned us for the most part. It’s the OCRYO fans that truly amaze me. We’ve only lost once head to head and have won just as many Natty’s the last 50 years and more the last 25!
The really cool part about being a Tiger is I have ran into one almost everywhere I’ve been on this planet! The paw’s reach is far and wide!!!

Depends on if they are driving the garbage truck or riding on the back, don’t like to yell if possible.

When I lived in Memphis, I'd talk to coots, dawgs, any fan of a school that had a passionate fan base.
Memphis was all basketball and any chance to talk CFB - you took it.
Became friends with a coot that I'm still in touch with today. Amazingly, found out he grew up on the same street in West Columbia that I grew up on...he's about a decade older so that's why I didn't know him at the time.
Once I moved to the Atlanta area - I'll say Go Tigers to anyone with Clemson gear...but that's about it.

When I see coot fans my expression is normally one of pity. Somewhere, someone, or perhaps multiple people failed this poor soul and as a result they were drawn to the clearance rack at Walmart full of garnet and black. And now they’re doomed to a lifetime of empty trophy cases and disappointment.
I don’t feel the need to take jabs at them them without provocation, their life is bad enough already. However if they open their beak and start chirping the pity wears off real quick…

The same can't be said for some other fans towards my Clemson gear - but based on the responses in this thread - it seems we have our share of people who do this very strange behavior (strange to me anyway) . . . . .

I don't say anything to Clemson fans unless I am far away from NC, SC, and GA, unless something huge is happening or going to happen that should be talked about. I saw a guy in Spain putting a Tiger Paw sticker at the beginning of trailhead. There were a bunch of stickers there and he was adding the Paw. I thought that was cool. I said hello of course.

I don’t say anything but I don’t wear Clemson stuff that much. Usually just wear an orange or purple shirt or sweater. My husband is another story. He wears Clemson stuff EVERY day he’s not working. I have seen MANY chicken fans say something to him when we’re out somewhere. Rarely see anyone else say anything to him though. They are obnoxious in this area (Rock Hill) and York County.
