QB run game

Just not a thing anymore. Historically, it's built throughout the course of the season, but it was always part of the offense. No longer. At least Cade didn't get hit a bunch. Good job by the O Line there. To me, that's the only positive coming out of the Georgia game: Cade didn't get beat up. Maybe the offense will realize some other goals besides protecting Cade in future games, like gaining over 200 yards and getting in the end zone more than zero times. Might have to run the quarterback a little bit.

I would not say its not a thing anymore. I don't think thats Cade's skill set. Cades not a running QB. Dude is like a deer in head lights. No field awareness and too jittery. I do think the offense runs better with a mobile QB. When he's on the move everything just seems so erratic.

Doesn't seem to see the field well when he does take off. Runs full speed into his own guys.

Yeah we need this facet of the game back. Watching that kid from BC convert 3rd down after 3rd down was yet more discouragement from where we are.

He has speed but no feel. He also does not make the reads well. It's insane that back to back 5 star QB's have been unable to operate the zone read game. Watson was elite at this, incredible feel. (lol)

TB10 was awesome running RPO.

Cade is just not the instinctive runner...

That you need to run a read-option scheme. He has straight line speed, but no quickness or wiggle. You need someone who is used to being a true dual threat, or you have to find a unicorn like Trevor Lawrence who can magically adapt his style to it (while angering NFL scouts). We would be better off just letting Cade handoff to the RB and worry about throwing the ball.

That might be true

But it also seems to be a problem. If he can't consistently make plays with his legs, is he going to be good enough with his arm to overcome that? Certainly more pressure to do so. And it doesn't make things any easier for Mafah back there either.

OC may need to adjust offense to fit the skill set of the players on this team.

I think we already have dumbed it down. That is why we look so vanilla and why we are so easy to scheme against.
