OL was overmatched all night. Nothing works on offense when the line is continually dominated.

I dont think we had a kickoff reach the end zone all night and we could not get a punt that went far enough to flip the field. Bama played for a half on a short field. We need someone that can consistently get touchbacks on a kickoff. Special teams can be a weapon too and it seems we are a bit short on kickoffs and punts.

Yup, offensive line showed they aren't worth being called national caliber, and KB showed he can't play against a defense with a pulse.
Unfortunately, the two are the most important parts of the offense, and we had no business winning this game. We were thoroughly dominated on offense.

Let’s look at this from a realistic stand point. Bama has a very good defense. We haven’t had a down field treat all year against a team with a pulse. No TE treat at all. Why the hell did I think we had a chance against Bama. Our Defense is the reason we’re as good as we are.

IMO- KB never had a chance to see what he could do, With an OL that couldn't hold back a sneeze last night, I am not sure there are many QB's that could have succeeded. Even DW needed time to operate!

It's amazing how you guys blame this lost on KB when you had the o line getting dominated all night and players dropping passes. The offense got whipped tonight bottom line. Trevor Lawerence would have had the same experience.

Can finally quit pretending.....
Jan 2, 2018, 12:43 AM

That Kelly Bryant was going to win us a title. He makes bad option reads, is indecisive, and doesn’t have downfield vision. I understand he had a lot of pressure coming, but he made a lot of bad decisions that made it worse. Also, our offensive play calling had the imagination of a brick. Alabama clearly watched film and realized all we have is screens and slants. A little bad luck made this game ugly but no part of what I watched led me to believe we deserved to win. I hope we learn something from this.

Trevor Lawrence is already "Developed" ! KB will be A Backup QB or WR next Season. Hopefully Hyatt stays and the OL improves because Tonight they got "##### Slapped", Totally Manhandled as did our "Outclassed Offensive Coaching Staff". D. Watson could have possibly been the difference as Trevor Lawrence hopefully will be, but Tonight the loss was on the OL, QB, and "Chunk and Dunk", Offensive Coaching Strategy Who had no answer for the Tide Defense. Our Defense got placed in tough situations as well as not having Tre Lamar's physicality at MLB. We are in the same Situation Bama was in last year. Now We are the Hunter vs. the Hunted with TL leading the way with some Receivers Who hopefully can consistently catch the ball as They Can't Now. One Man's Opinion !

Some of you have been trying to bench Kelly B all year. He has been great. He and the team didn't get done when needed the most, but what's it gonna take for some of you to admit he is the best option!

I agree with you. KB looked confused and indecisive. Cain did not help, dropping an easy first down and then having the ball stripped on what would have been a long gain up the sideline. Oline was really the culprit, IMO. They were consistently beaten. Kick return nonexistent and punting mediocre, at best. Springtime will definitely see a hot qb competition. Good for Alex Spence on the field goals, but I would still like to see someone who can boom it through the end zone on kickoffs. Defense was actually quite good, holding 'Bama to 258 yards and just a couple of big plays. But the field position put them in precarious spots and the pick six is on the offense. I think the D can only be judged for giving up 10 points, the other 14 the offense's fault.

Definitely were not effectively blocking on the right side of the line.. the right offensive tackle spent most of the night falsely blocking to his left, letting the Alabama defender slip around enough to harry Bryant far to often for many lost yards and downs.
Miscues like defensive offsides, dropped balls, weak passing, and generally poor offensive presence really looked more like the beginning of the season than the end.
The defensive line had enough miscues, but did it's job keeping Alabama mostly contained and forcing many punts even after Alabama being given superb field position by non-rugby style punts which could have helped.
Yes Alabama did their job defensively, but the offensive line of the Tigers didn't step up to the challenge like one would expect. And sadly they let themselves become demoralized with the 3rd Qtr interceptions, unable to rally the line and make the effort necessary. KB is an OK QB, but he wasn't able to rallying the offensive line nearly as well as one would hope in such a big game. Yes he did fine much of the season, but we didn't see near enough get up and go in his tank when the chips were down. Passing ball speed looked horrible far too often in my opinion, making me wonder if that was the cause for several failed catches.
Well, there's plenty of film for Dabo and the boys to look at, hopefully they'll learn and adjust for next season. The talent level is there mostly, it's just that extra spark on a continuing basis that seems to flicker low far too often. Still AllIN...

I'M NOT SURE WHY ANYONE would have expected more of KB, who is basically a D-2 QB at best. That has been obvious all season. A decent HS QB can hit 10-yard passes (most of the time, in our case), but that doesn't cut it at this level---which became painfully obvious this evening.

I had hoped that the game would at least be competitive, but it really turned out to be embarrassing. In the second half in particular the tigers seemed to be listless, unmotivated and wishing they were somewhere else. Kelly Bryant, gutsy guy that he is, was exposed for what he is, a Division 11 level QB, struggling to compete at a high D-1 level. From the first five minutes, the game was never in doubt. We had absolutely no deep vertical threat, and Kelly's break and run tactics went absolutely nowhere against a fast defense like Bama's. Game over. They had obviously watched the film, and must have been licking their chops. And this reportedly was not one of Bama's better teams. With no viable passing threat, our running game had no chance against a bunched up Bama defense. And just last week or so, I think I read something about KB for the Heisman next year. God help us. If this is Dabo's version of a "tight game." I hate to see his version of a blowout. Ah well, back to the drawing board (hopefully).

not totaly dominated as for the defense. If you told me that we held bama to 24 points we won. Offense sucked bad. turnovers for scores. Defense gave up 10 pts. ofense 14.

since his sky is falling article after the FSU loss in 2013. David haven’t you been around long enough to know that one game doesn’t define a team or it’s future. Thanks for another sky is falling article. Since your last one we have won a Natty, 3 Conference championships, and 3 straight CFP appearances. I know this website is getting desperate for clicks. So glad that most of the commenters are not Clemson coaches because you guys don't have a clue when it comes to QBs. You all were on Hunter Johnson all year, now you jump to TL. KB for a first year starter in D1 major college football went 12-2 and led an offense that averaged 30.5 points a game... Don't believe that any D2 QB could have done that for us. He didn't lose the Syracuse game, but he still has to claim it since he started it, though he was 13-15 when he left that game due to injury. The two games that he struggled in the most were the two games (Bama and Auburn) that the right side of his offensive line didn't show up to block anyone and the OCs didn't run the ball with our best back (Feaster) to help slow the rush. So glad that Dabo knows what he is doing because KB is very accurate, but you guys don't actually watch the game, you watch the highlights. People who watch the game actually see the accurate throws on the move, they see the velocity on the ball on the throws to the outside and across the middle, they see the ball being placed into tight windows, they also see that our play caller doesn't help get the QB in rhythm by calling a balanced attack, they see that Feaster isn't getting enough carries to pound the middle of the defense to slow the rush, they see that we rotate the backs too much especially when Feaster is the best blocking back with the ability to run between the tackles while still having the ability to take it to the house on any carry. Most coaches in the top 25 would take KB as a starter based on his performance this season. He isn't perfect, but what first year starter is. I'll take 12-1 from a first year starter any day... And Dabo will also... Imagine if the line actually blocked on the right side and the receivers didn't drop balls and Tony Elliot actually called run plays that allowed Feaster to rush the ball 20-25 times a game like Gallman was afforded with Watson...

It was over once Bama shut down the running game. Our passing attack wasn't strong enough to win at that level. Poor pass protection, dropped passes, and middling QB play doomed us. It's ok. It will better next season. I love Kelly B. He got us to the playoffs and should be proud of that, but I hope the coaches are prepared for competition in the spring.
