QB behind DW4 for two years and still...

Not "standing out"? Bryant should be heads and shoulders above a freshman and two sophomores. I'm worried about this QB situation. Dabo is gonna put us in another Stoudt situation because of seniority. If Johnson of Cooper does better, let them play. Maybe I'm worried for nothing. I'm sure Dabo knows what he's doing but I have an uneasy feeling about the whole thing.

I don't think you are wrong in what is happening but Dabo and company still have to go about finding the best QB they can for opening day. If that is Bryant and he puts all his skills together and starts performing more consistently then give him the job, if not I would much rather go with Cooper and let Johnson be the backup and learn and if Cooper struggles during the season we go with Johnson. Just my opinion but have to let the coaches decide who is going to start and hope that one of the guys steps up and takes the reigns.

It's coach speak

Even if he were far ahead they wouldn't say so. I'm not saying he is, but they probably won't name a starter until a week before the opener because they want an open competition where everyone is in it. I do expect Bryant to leave the spring atop the depth chart, but that's meaningless this early

"Dabo is gonna put us in another Stoudt situation because of seniority".
Dabo is going to play the guy with the best combination of experience, most knowledge with the offense, and who is showing the best in practice.
Just like he did with Cole and Deshaun.
Deshaun proved to be the best QB as time went on, but he wasn't ready to be the starter from day 1. Cole deserved the shot and he got it. He was the best combination of experience, he had the most knowledge of the offense, and he was showing the best in practice. He showed exactly what he was capable of against Oklahoma. That's why he started.
Dabo handled correctly.

Another thing is Cole didn't have Coach Streeter until a few weeks before Oklahoma. Never underestimate the value of a good QB coach!

better than cole ..just watch the uga game when watson went in compared to cole..fact is cole got the start because he rode the pine and never complained..we have a legit reason to be concerned that he will pull that bs again with bryant..if cooper is better then he should start.

People that think differently should be forced to watch every Cole Stoudt snap from that season again.

I agree with this. It did show from the beginning in the ugay game. It's not what I hoped for ( I wanted Stoudt to shine), but he was not as effective as DW4 from the get go. Finally Dabo admitted it, and we moved ahead.

I think that the fact that he is not gung-ho about any one quaterback shows that it is truly still a wide open, unsettled position. It seems to me his comments are laced with a little bit of "Bryant is the best of what we got right now..."

All Stoudt needed was a QB coach that fit his talents.

As proved against Oklahoma. Morris was all DW4 or nothing. He screwed Stoudt up while he was here.

Seems like Stoudt was always ahead w/ coaches that spring

when DW4 was a freshman.
It's been a while and I can't remember a lot of specifics, but I don't ever remember the coaches saying things like "None of the QBs has stood out."
Seems like it was always ... "Cole Stoudt is the starter.", and that didn't change even going into the UGA game.
I don't see them giving Kelly Bryant the same sort of vote of confidence they gave Cole Stoudt.

I agree. Maybe a good lesson was learned from that experience.
