Public opinion of SEC

I don't see Clemson and FSU joining the SEC but if that happened, where would we rank in public and media opinion in terms of football? Here is my list if current coaches remain in effect. 1. Alabama 10. Florida 2. Georgia 11. Mississippi 3. Texas 12. Auburn 4. LSU 13. Kentucky 5. Texas A&M 14. South Carolina 6. Clemson 15. Arkansas 7. Oklahoma 16. Mississippi State 8. Tennessee 17. Missouri 9. Florida State 18. Vanderbilt

I think Clemson would place 3rd or better in the SEC most years. That's not Homer talk either. Recruiting would ramp up again too. I think one of the biggest anti recruiting strategies used against Clemson is the fact Clemson is in the ACC team.

That is homer talk. Our strength of schedule would become much more challenging if we were to join the SEC. That is one of the main reasons I do not want to join that conference. We aren’t just going to walk in there and dominate like we do in the ACC. Anyone who thinks that is a unobjective homer.

I liked the way Missouri came in from the super weak BigXII and played in a couple of consecutive SEC Championship games. Because, you know, the SEC is such the incredible awesome.

And A&M went from 7-6 to 11-2 in their first season. The first time they had won double digit games in 14 years. So much tougher. Btw both Mizzou and A&M have seen their average wins per season go up since joining the SEC.

Plug Clemson into any SEC East teams schedule. It's not that bad dude.

I totally agree, Clemson, Bama, and Georgia would ride side by side bc Clemson in the SEC would recruit as well as them both, maybe even better!!!!

I am talking both media and the man on the street. Walk down the street in the largest city in every state and ask 100 people who are the top 5 football teams in the SEC and you would get a ton of different orders. Obviously it depends on where the street is but nationally, I just don't see us or FSU being anywhere near Bama, Georgia or Texas because they are just huge national, even international brands. I could see Clemson, FSU, LSU and A&M being 4-7 in any order. Just another food for thought time filler in the offseason.

Please remind me what Texas, or LSU Head Coaches have accomplished to place them above Clemson?
Texas A&M, that's a real knee slapper.....😂😂😂. And UGA, well the shine is about to wear off.
That is the possibly the dumbest post I've seen on Tigernet. Ever.

Why do you think the shine is about to wear off UGA?

They’ve won the last two national championships and just had 10 players drafted by the NFL. They just signed the #2 recruiting class.
I know it’s hard to acknowledge, but they are killing it and have tons of momentum. They show no sign of slowing down.

Make no mistake about it, our road would be very tough.
Georgia & Alabama right now are 1 and 1a. After that I believe Clemson could play and win with anyone. With that said, we could also almost lose to anyone because the SEC is that much tougher.
I think the last couple of years we would finish 8-4. The years with Trevor and Watson we would have been in the same position as we were in the ACC, right there in the thick of it and winning some.
I believe and HOPE recruiting will go up if we join the SEC.

Good Lowered you're scared. Just for fun let's plug Clemson into the Coot's 2023 conference schedule and assume we are in the SEC.
UGa Miss St Tennessee Florida Missouri Texas A&M Vanderbilt Kentucky Coots
Worst case 7-2 with a toss up with Tennessee and a probably loss to Georgia but who knows.

us behind Texas OR Texas A&M.
The only real stability in the SEC is Bama at the top. Yes, Georgia has horned in right now, but expect Saban to rebound this year.

Yea Bama will be back soon enough. Would not surprise me if A&M and LSU got back in the mix even though I’m not fond of either of their coaches.
SEC East needs GA. After that I’m just not seeing anything that screams great, but with coaching carousels, the portal and injuries things can change rapidly.

Be an adjustment period but with it would be some recruits that we might not currently be getting because they want to play in the SEC.
