Looks like a fit athletically. Would be a nice upgrade over Hebert if it happens.

Got discernment? Apparently not, in this one.
And if you're referring to me, no TNetter is capable of making me break out in tears over anything.
A QB recruit? LMAO. Athletes change their mind all the time. If he's a good fit, I hope we get him.

This kid is the #1 player in the class and I think the deal offered was 5mil over 4 years. That's still a fraction of what head coaches make.

Why are we comparing what the head coach, who actually runs a program, makes and could be fired tomorrow with a high school kid that may or may not be around a year. Some folks just see things ### backwards.

Imagine if college coaches had to matriculate out after 4-5 years in the profession and either go the NFL route after or give it up altogether. Comparing compensation between college coaches and college players is a non-starter.

which is why the players should have very little if any inclusion in revenue sharing...F--- this 'empower the players' idealogy, a movement that has flourished by the proliferation and dispersal of a contrived, sympathetic narrative:the life of a power 4 cfb player is tantamount to working in a salt mine.

College coaches can be just as nimble, especially position or coordinators over a span like that. My point was more that the coaching staffs have made professions out of it which stretch out decades. They don't exhaust eligibility and have to leave the level after some years as players do.

players make far more money than head coaches / managers in every sport. Right now top head coaches in CFB are still making something in the neighborhood of 10x more money than the top players. I just think that's it's inevitable that the gap will close.

And DJ got how much? DJ is proof that these large sums of money are stupid investments. Put some guardrails in place like a structured salary cap. Freshman- 0- 250k Sophomore 250-500k Junior (no degree completed) 500k-1 million Junior (with degree completed) or Senior- no limits.
I hope these sponsors go bankrupt. Tbey are getting zero ROI on these high school kids and a majority of these kids are not panning out and are going broke. But if course that data will not be made public.

Didn’t the Barstool guy offer a million dollars for any QB that would come to Michigan?

I enjoyed this description:
[Smith, described as a "scrappy, dual-threat quarterback prospect that finds ways to win games" by 247 Sports director of scouting Andrew Ivinis,]
I wonder if he is like having a coach on the field as well.

Looked at his highlights, did not see many throws that were not streaks or skinny posts. So hard to evaluate his understanding of the game and accuracy tbh. Does he throw with anticipation is the only question i have. He definitely has a set of wheels and good instincts as a dual threat. Kinda reminds me of Vizzina. Would be a solid get for this class though.

Clemson will probably have a good shot at this kid ironically bc of NIL, Dabo has a track record of loyalty to recruits and after being spurned by a team he was committed to since 2023 and being kicked to the curb I bet this kid will take a hard look at Clemson and Dabo.

This doesn't bode well for what Michigan thinks of Jaydn Davis either. He'll be the next to jump ship if they sign Underwood.

Surprised in Davis’ not seeing the field. Guy looked like a can’t miss type athlete.
