Trying to also confirm from someone else in the know.. am hearing from a reputable source that Cade is coming back and working out details of a massive NIL deal somewhere around $6-6.5 million. Really believe this is going to drive more retention from some others that were considering options.

This is un fathomable. At Clemson. Great education, premier facilities and coaches with highest payroll in nation. And he needs 6 million dollars. Hope he responds well.

I'm a Clemson grad, but I'd hardly call us a "world class" education. We're like 70th in the country. And that holds little value to an NFL player. The apartment, food, medical and dental is something he'd get at literally any school.

that these guys are there for an education. Just listen to them talk (most of them, anyway). No way they’re serious students. That goes for every program, of course, not just Clemson.
We’re headed for programs that are barely attached to universities. At least then it’ll be honest, and no one will have to pretend about graduation rates, etc.

Add to that @shirleyb that he getting that may lead to other retentions. With the game our 3 ace receivers had and the pub they're getting makes me think they could be the other retentions. Crazy. We all knew the vultures were circling for them. So how much do we have to pony up for them.
Perhaps the more important question is how long does it take for Dabo to call a press conference and follow Saban, Clawson, Larry and others in resignation? I would gander this really gets to him. No, he's not opposed to kids getting a fair poke, but being held hostage... a different gear.

It's more about what heQB's worth on the open market now. He is one of the top 3 QBs in college football and one of the top 25 most valuable players.

It's the market. That kid from Tulane is getting 8 million over 2 years at Duke. DUKE. If a Tulane transfer is worth 4 a year? Then a kid that just threw for 3600 yards with 36 passing TD's to just 6 interception is worth around 6. Especially after he put up over 300 yards and 3 TD's against the number 1 pass defense in the country. 6 million is a lot of money, but it is also fair market value.

We held them to their 2nd lowest point of the season, our offense could not move the ball at all outside a couple of drives yet you blame the D for the loss.

People here really can't get that through their heads. That the revenue sharing is entirely separate money and will do nothing to even the playing field of NIL. NIL is here to stay and is uncapped (and cannot be capped under Kavanaugh's opinion). The only chance for NIL to lower is fan bases will get tired of spending millions and not winning titles.

What do you all think is happening out there? And why do you care so much about their pay? My guess is 6mm on the high side but I’m sure the number is significant. We are nowhere without him. Talented QB leaders with experience are few and far between. College football has been making people a lot of money. Good for the kids getting paid. Now tho we desperately need guidelines and rules. NFL has way more rules than college. That will have to change I think. I love Cade and team has a chance to be special next year with some luck of course. Heath etc…
