I would add a second 4 loss season after Smu game. Hard to argue 4 losses is good.

Yeah, not sure why this needs a poll. It’s obvious. But, some perspective is needed. We had no where else to go but down. Doesn’t mean we can’t get back up, but some things are going to need to change to make that happen. Guess we’ll see if it’s the revenue sharing we’ve been hearing so much about.

Recruiting is down…all the hires since TElliot/Scott/Venables except Luke are fails. Absolute need to play seniority over better talent until it’s too late……. Other than that…things are peachy.

Down unfortunately. But it has been going down. We wasted a few years with a terrible QB that could have been playoff worthy.

We got beat by the only 3 good teams we played this year. I wouldn’t say we are heading in an upward direction.

Winning the ACC and making the playoffs would be a successful season. However, that doesn’t mean we don’t have challenges to address.
I know that is hard for you to understand when you are so used to having to convince people that’s seasons are successful without winning any championships.

From my observations, the downward trajectory began following the positive Ostarine tests in 2018.
As a result of those tests and the investigation, I think there may have been significant changes in the diet & nutrition component of the football program.

I say down because the depth of the problem is not fully acknowledged.

Dabo presents it as we are just as good as ever but we have a few things not go our way. And a lot of fans seem to think we are just a few random accidents away from a national championship.
The defense appears broken under the current leadership. I am more optimistic than many about our offense.... but plenty see THAT as broken. (I actually think we are trending up offensively, but overall down with defense and special teams.)

Statistically it’s on a downward trend since 2020. We have lost more games in that span than the previous ten years. Those are the facts. My opinion is we’re on a downward trend. Player development and coaching seems MIA. Defense has fallen off a cliff.

I think it's going down and I believe the "glory days" are truly well and over. Now, unlike some here I don't put this all on Dabo though. It's true I don't agree with every decision he's made but it's also true Dabo knows football better than I do. So, I have no choice but to really accept his decisions and frankly I'm fine with that.
What I think contributes most to our downward trend and why I think it's going to continue is purely because of money and recruiting. In this modern college football Clemson just cannot compete with the top dogs. Just look at this years recruiting class. We have been out recruited by many in the ACC alone. I think you're being naive if you think this year is a one off. Short of some crazy rich donor just deciding out of the blue they're fine with pumping out cash for recruit after recruit at an insane degree it's just going to continue.
It's sad but it is what it is.

May not look like it now but we will have veteran Cade next year with a matured wesco and Moore, what looks like it will be a better D and hopefully new coordinators. I see nothing but up

It doesn’t take a poll to prove that we are trending down from 2 national titles with cfp appearances in 6 straight seasons to being an underdog to freakin SMU. Those are just the facts…it’s not subjective.
You should ask this question after the game tonight. I believe a win here would put us on a forward trajectory similar to the way the LSU win in 2012 did

The question was as of RIGHT NOW what is the trajectory not what is the trajectory based off of 5 years ago.

Until something happens to start and up tick, we’re still trending down. A coot loss at home last week didn’t help the trend

Down regardless of what happens tonight.

As long as leadership denies this, it will not change. A win might change the slope of how fast but unless something changes with recruiting or roster management the CFP windows are going to get farther away. With a loss tonight, this season will be presented with a narrative that is was 'good' because 'we made it to last game with a chance to get to CFP and that is all you can ask for', not the complete failure it was.

Up. Across the roster this is a young team that could easily be 11-1. The improvement since DJ left and Coaches were fired has been too slow but it is improvement. Revenue sharing starts in July which the HC says is going to help.
