Do we have a recruitng conumdrum in the making?

Clemson has two WR commits already in TJ Chase and Cornell Powell. I'm pretty sure 3 WR's is the cap this year.
Yet two recievers are really high on Clemson who might pull the trigger soon. If McDoom were to commit, would we not accept a commitment from Diondre Overton? Seems he is just too good of an athlete to turn down. Would he be an oversign, knowing we haev quite a few recievers and have a need to add limebackers and other positions to stay balanced.

What a great problem to have!

I don't have the answer, but look at where Dabo and company have Clemson positioned. So many top players want to play for the Tigers, we may have to turn them away! Contrast that situation with the one in the Midlands.
Go Tigers!!!!!

Our numbers are not good at wideout. If the Johnson kid doesn't qualify. Why not take Mcdoom? Williams may bolt with a big junior year. Sign Overton as his replacement. I think we should take 4 just to get our numbers up.We have talent but not numbers.

They are probably using this to entice the one they like the most to pull the trigger on a commit. Tough position to be in, but this is what it's like every year for the big boys. With next year's #'s it seems like we can only take one more for this cycle unless the coaches know about some attrition.

Wasn't Keyshawn Johnson's son looking at us. How does he stack up as a receiver?

Say we have one spot, and only one. Whomever can be sure to be All In before the other gets the spot.
Tough to lose on one, but better to have less double-talk. After all, we wouldn't want to cut a guy 2 days before signing day

I doubt this would be an issue for their staff or fans; because they know Spurrier would simply hand out pink slips to make room for any prize recruit. This has been a common practice of his for many years. IYO, which is worse: Petrino yanking a verbal offer, after receiving a verbal commit or not renewing a Jr. or Sr. scholarship(yr/yr contract) solely to make room for a prized recruit or just to increase the # of Ships U have to work with?

I think Clemson is holding out for Overton to be honest. McDoom is good but you can't turn away a 6'5 wr with the athletic ability of Overton in my opinion. Overton right now is still raw but with a 5* upside.

I agree with you that it seems like the staff is leaning that way but mcdoom looks college ready right now (assuming that's decent competition he's making a fool out of). I also agree with the guy who posted earlier about just letting denzel Johnson go and taking 4 this class

I like Overton, he'said got great size and talent, but to be honest, I was more impressed with Mcdoom's video. With that being said, it's great to be a tiger. The amount of talent Clemson is attracting is definitely getting me excited.

WE HAVE ONE OF THE BEST RECRUITING STAFFS IN COLLEGE FOOTBALL, AND SOMEONE LIKE YOU HAS TO TURN IT INTO A NEGATIVE.TAKE YOUR COMNDRUM AND BEAT YOUR DRUM WITH IT.LET THE COACHES TAKE CARE OF RECRUITING.I REMEMBER LAST YEAR,THAT SOMEONE WAS WORRIED WHEN FULLER COMMITED THAT WE WERE GOING TO HAVE TO MANY RUNNING BACKS.THEN WHAT HAPPENED.......OGLESBY DIDN'T QUALIFY.
