If you offer the kid from the portal, but can’t afford what the other team is paying. . .does the portal really help? Y’all act like just because you want someone in the portal, they will automatically pick Clemson. There are no guarantees; it has to be a two way street. Some are grossly missing that fact.

Correction, he’s not using the portal the way you think he should. He’s already told you they have offered kids that said no. He’s also told you he isn’t going to “tamper with” or “pay” a kid to come to Clemson. The playmakers in the portal want an immediate ROI paid upfront. And they are there because they already have a suitor.

Staff didn’t have any scholarships to offer transfers. Because players stay here. If we had schollies they would offer transfer players if they were any better than what we already have. Not having transfer portal players is NOT the reason we lost to FSU today. Conversely their transfer players are NOT the reason they won.
Transfer portal players are like flavor of the month. I’ll be happy when it changes

Because the portal really helped FSU. They actually played worse than Clemson did! They almost lost to BC last week.
